Why did I lose all my skins and heirlooms on apex after unlinking an email with EA and why does it say i have to wait 6 months to re link it??

    Hi @katmallainious,

Ok, thanks for clearing things up. What it sounds like has happened is you've unlinked the EA account that your EA game saves are stored on and connected up a new EA account. As your EA game saves are stored on the EA account, not the device, your in-game progress will not transfer over when you change out the EA accounts.

The good news is linking back up your original EA account with the Apex game saves on it may restore the content:

However, that won't be possible for a while. You mentioned that you've already linked up a new EA account (under the new email). To relink your older EA account and recover what game saves you can, you'll need to unlink your new EA account from your console. Here's what the EA Help article shares: Unlink your platform accounts from your EA Account

Not 100% sure but I'd say it has to do with the account your email is linked to.
Are you just changing email addresses or is it a different account?
From what I hear skins and heirlooms don't transfer to other accounts.

Lets say you have a Steam account connected to your EA account, unlinking one can result in the loss of data.

When you try to unlink accounts it will show you a warning that data loss can occur.

It's possible for you to regain this data if you link it again, though even then it's not guaranteed that you can get it back.

Relinking has a delay most likely for security related reasons, though I'm not sure about that.

I think your best bet is to contact support: https://help.ea.com/en/contact-us/

    Hi @katmallainious,

It may help to break this down step by step to understand what might be happening there. Can you describe the steps you took to complete the unlink?

  • I first unlinked my PlayStation account from my ea account and re linked it to a different email bc I don’t use that other email anymore and then when I logged back in all my skins, heirlooms, backgrounds, emotes, finishers, and holosprays are gone. The only thing that stayed was my stats and I got 200+ packs

Has it happened to others where they have regained their skins back ?
