Open Letter for EA to Work on the Next Gen. Hacking Security System
Dear Community Managers and EA!
I think this is the time when you guys have to step up one level regarding cheaters. We already have the technology, it is time that you guys start to leverage it.
Currently the system is tedious, slow, unpredictable, and self-destroying. It is way too many games going down the road of filled with hackers and then regular players just deserting the game in the hope of a new game where there supposedly less hacking (as advertised many many times!)... Just to repeat the same process over and over.
Current system as it works now:
1.) There is no naming and shaming to protect the people's inocence until prooven guilty. With that our hands are tied to completely make the hacker's life a living hell. We could do it, but we aren't allowed.
2.) Reporting is so tedious and Untrustworthy that most of the people just don't bother reporting. I have to record the player's name (screenshot or video), alt tab out of the game, open a website (possibly log in too), fill out a form, check the time, game ID (If applicable), check the player's name again -because they use crazy names and characters I forget it after 20seconds)...
3.) Then there is no follow-up, there is no communication I can either pray to EA to actually deal with the hacker or try to write to support -who will tell me it is all taking care of, they can't give me any more specific information-. No timeframe, no nothing.
4.) Hackers having fun meanwhile.
The system is useless. Not working. By the time your staff create a list, check the games (if they got a tool at all to do, who knows I'm certainly don't because you don't give me any information about how you deal with hackers). The same happens over and over and over.
And yes I agree, sometimes the supposed hacker isn't even a hacker! That only puts more oil on the fire, since it just makes us, players also untrustworthy with our reporting! Then the vicious circle continues, we try to record videos, but no, naming and shaming on official forums/processes is unallowed... and it starts all over again. Its hacker, no its not - yes they are, they get banned... or not...
We don't enjoy our games like this and we don't trust your security environment anymore!
My proposal:
-It is time for the industry to start applying AI for recognizing hackers in game, on the fly
-As soon as hacking identified, initiate user account trace.
-Check the user account, trace the up, location, computername, ISP.
-Automatically send official communication to the ISP regarding the given time period and IP address of the person to be blocked
-With the same move, request police investigation from the ISP
-Ban the user account for life from EA, all of their games not just the one that they were hacking in
Obviously this system only works when there is no human interaction. Both the ISP, Both the Police and both EA need to prepare a system, working together hand in hand, flawlessly.
End result is a secure environment, and this is the future.
Humans just cannot handle this, we are fighting hackers easy -almost- 30 years now. The current system doesn't work.
I want everyone to sign. I want EA to start working on this, or else all future games will have the same over and over.
