As a solo queuer, I agree 100%. The game is still geared too much around three-stacks. Don't say 'find a team' as I don't like talking to people online and I have no gaming friends, being in my 50s.
Had a game yesterday that was the perfect example. I wasn't the DM but we didn't even hot drop. We just ended up with two other squads and my randoms were dead within 20 secs. So, off I ran with my white shield and P2020.
Then it was 15 minutes of hiding as no one had picked a support legend. I eventually got found my accident by a Rev and that was that. 'We' finished 8th - 10 whole points.
Somehow I've made it to Silver 1 (usually get to Plat) but its been hideous at times.
