I think there are going to be a lot of people quitting ranked if there is ranked demotion. I mean, there kind of is already. Will it help the remaining IVs in each ranked to not hot drop?I don't think so. I think they hit their 'IV's and leave. But nobody said they'd do that. You rise and fall through the ranks as it stands right now. It's just that a lot of people play badly, part because Respawn guides them to do exactly what you don't if you want to win. Things like:"Stick together, and you'll win more." "Don't loot your team mate's box.""The ring's closing, better move."I mean, we can go on, but no to all these things.

@Cheese9Man I won't speculate, but am definitely excited to see what the changes are! Hopefully we'll get more info before the season ends

Respawn - Ranked changes: you can now use Kp to buy cosmetics. So moving on ...
Ranked players - wh - bu - ... are they even ranked cosmetics ?

I don't think it's worth the hype, really.
Respawn hasn't made a major change to most of their formats, characters or weapons, even when the situation is dire. The most major changes they've made are all about content, Arenas, Control, new maps, etc.
The last ranked change was too minor but in the right direction. I honestly do not trust that, when I hear 'change coming', it means for the better from Respawn. I've learned my lesson many times. This doesn't mean it can't be good but seriously, I'm going to wait and see.
Like I mentioned in another thread, there are the core problems with the game, which means of course they affect Ranked too, and then there's the Ranked system. Fixing the second can help, but it doesn't fix the first. Core problems right now are bogging this BR down and I don't believe they're going to be fixed.
A 'Major' Ranked change would be like making Control the primary format for a Ranked game, or some other more reliable mode than a BR. BR's could be relegated back to their original purpose, just for laughs and a good time. But no, I don't anticipate that kind of a change. They're probably going to do something like try to make damage matter and call that a 'major' change. At best.

@KelRiever Ranked demotion would only benefit me as I just get to Diamond IV then quit.

Only other thing that I would want to see is major increase to ranked level cap.

@MyName1sNotJohn Yeah I kinda agree with adding 1 or 2 ranks. The difference on how gold and platinum plays or feels is huge.

Maybe just maybe revives and respawning teammates will be rewarded with RP in order to provide more of a reason for sticking with your team. This does not have to be much but enough for an incentive. I can not count how many times me saving a teammate or them saving me = winning the game or how many times one could have been saved but it did not happen and the loss was insured.
I have suggested this type of RP reward many times in the past.

@Cheese9Man once I get to my goal, why would I risk losing my place? If demotion protection is removed then imo a lot of players will stop there too. From memory there is a huge % of players playing ranked and respawn will not want to lose their gametime. Move to a tedious rando hot drop pubs after ranked goal achieved for fun, I think not. Can only see further pub gameplay to play with friends!
They won't be removing demotion protection.
