Rank RP is Toxic

Rework for both Battle Royale and Arenas has been confirmed for Season 11. Had a friend ask them if the Arenas AP point system was glitched and they said that it was supposed to be like that but they were going to start to work on it next season (season 11). Im guessing since BR is the priority it'll most likely arrive sooner than arenas. Expect an arenas ranked ap rework for mid S11 or its final stretch.

Yeah honestly even 1 rp for all that would make me want to die less in real life right now rank is just chasing your tail soon as you get into platinum....and with only 30 days you have to sell your soul practically to make it work so really they need give more time too I already given up 15 days in on plat 4 it is no joke it is hell you do good then have 10 terrible games worst luck worst teammates or just straight up mega try hard is what it is but that's another problem. You should only play with peeps in your rank really if wasn't so hard to rank up thered be more than enough players to go around they have it sport hard competitiveness right now and its just toxic since its a game. Shouldn't be so difficult. Don't care for the rewards either but if thats why they make it so hard just get rid of it seriously lmao

I hate the steep jump in difficulty comparing Gold lobbies to Plat lobbies. The game just changes in plat rather than a gradual increase in difficulty. I'm all in for rank points changes.

Well I know this might be long. I am not the best Apex player nor the worst and I have good and bad days and I have slowly come to the conclusion and really think ranked for both BR and Arenas needs to be updated/fixed. I have been playing since season 1. 

Please do not take the below suggestions to literally they are a starting discussion point only and keep in mind "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few or the one"

The concept of the game in BR ranked is team play whether you are playing with friends or solo jumping with randoms. I get the concept of the current ranked points system and feel that it is decent however team play is not rewarded at its fullest. so here are a couple of serious suggestions for making a decent system possibly better.

1, Remove the placement multiplier for kills.

2. Keep placement RP award as is.

3. Award 15 RP for each kill.

4. Award 8 RP for each assist .

5. Award 5 RP for each revive.

6. Award 10 RP for each re-spawn.

7. RP for kills and assists capped at 75 RP per game.

8. RP for revive or re-spawn capped at 45 RP per game.

9. keep the ranked entry cost the same or make them slightly more expensive seeing as points could now be gained for revive/re-spawning also.

10. Remove rank protection. 

I also seriously think the BR ranked experience would benefit from players only be in ques either one rank above or below their current rank and should only be playing against players one rank above or below them only.

I think the above might be something that works. again this is a team game and helping downed teammates can go a long way towards winning a game and should be awarded. not all players are great assault players but sometimes they are that great support player and getting the res off to keep the team going just like some legends.

Now on to Arenas ranked. I really like me some arenas it helps keep you sharp in cc skills and  I use non- Ranked Arenas as a firing range so to speak. what a great way to warm up. however the ranked arenas point system is not well done or well balanced or whatever, it does not work. I think that the AP system needs to be made clear as far as points awarded goes, this hidden MMR and AP award system is way too ambiguous. Again this is a team game concept and team play should be rewarded.

1. Add a ranked cost starting at silver that increases at each higher rank. IDK say 20/25/35/40/45?

2. No rank protection.

3. Award team that wins the Arena game AP. lets say 60 AP.

4. Award team AP for each match won in a game whether the team won the game or not. 5 AP per match?

5. Award player individual AP for kills and assists. 5AP each?

6. Award player individual AP for revives. 5 AP each?

As with the BR Ranked I also seriously think the Arena ranked experience would benefit from players only be in ques either one rank above or below their current rank and should only be playing against players one rank above or below them only.

I think something like this would allow players that perform well even if their team ultimately loses be able to still gain AP. I mean it is really frustrating when you get 8 kills 1400 or more damage a revive and when you lose the game all you get is AP loss.

Honestly I think a lot of the recommendations above for ranked are not good.

Theyre all about hot dropping if you think about it, all gun play and none tactics.

The problem with ranked scoring is it cuts your performance from mattering unless you get top 2 teams at a certain point.  I hate to say but if everyone is getting points for damage and knockdowns, but you don’t change how tiers work, you aren’t getting any different results.

@KelRieveroh yeah?, I want you to remember all the times you had a trash squad, and you down 2 out of 3 of that squad or at least that one guy, and your teammates can't either kill the others or finish the downed one

You knock down someone, you do your bloody job yet you get -24 RP depending on rank.

@MabusHadesmy two cents on this whole thing.

1. expectations of infinite gains - the biggest problem I have with ranked, players in there, and their attitude. Somehow everyone feels like they suppose to be at least Master, well newer players will settle with Diamond.

Let's be honest if Diamond is 2nd top rank and Master pretty much is top rank, there can't be 20, 30 or 50% of community there, it's like saying that every 2nd or 5th basketball player should be in NBA.

= people just need to lower their expectations and understand that if they struggle in whatever tier it might be their skill cap / their team skill cap, as getting set team you can play well together is also part of BR game!

2. KP - I have posted before and post again that the team should have 1 kill and 2 assist points per each enemy killed as long as everyone on the team is alive (even knocked), because doing the dirty work still should be rewarded e.g. mentioned case where two people watch how one pushes to clean up later.
Let them do that if their moral standards allow that or they are just doing so because they are afraid to push from the start, but at least the person that does the correct choice and benefits the team's progress should get at least an assist for it.

3. Evaluating and rewarding damage - hell no, then the situation with damage farming, comparing will spin out of control even more. Ranked should reward efficiency and winning not a person who has 4k damage mostly using Chargerifel and farming tactics while having 4 kill e.g. 1 kill should take at most 225 damage so person with 4 kills if playing well should not have more than 1000 damage, rest is lack of skill, damage farming or just game situation that does not need to be rewarded like unfinished business in any aspect of life, your tried you failed so you failed, no reward boo-hoo.

4. Should RP points be changed - no, because changing the multiplier from 10 to 100 will not make any difference, you will only see Masters go from 10k RP to 100k RP but they will still be there and they will still be 10 times better or what not than you, because they just are (are using some help).
If Respawn changes system totally we will not be able to compare how good/bad changes are, because there would be no objective criteria.

5. Removing tier protection - YESS PLEASE! That might be actually the most important change so that all boosted accounts, people who do not play regularly or well enough will automatically be demoted and you will not have those situations where in Platinum lobbies you have ex diamond / master players who just joined in the split as well as boosted gold players hang by their thread in Platinum 4 because of tier protection all at the same time in the same lobbies. In my opinion, this will improve not only matchmaking but all the bickering about stupid losses, because you will just have fewer "stupid" players per tier.

To sum up: remove tier protection, add assist to all team members alive and the rest is the community's problem of perception of what ranked it and ability to understand that whenever there is a competition there will be winner and losers and a bunch of people in between.
