@apostolateofDOOM OK lol.
Well I'm looking forward to it. ^.^
@MandatoryIDtag I would've been too but seeing how Apex has been run has put me off investing in them and their future titles.
We'll hear more about it soon which will likely be more than what you hear in it. 👿
- @apostolateofDOOM respawn has a good track record though, Titanfall series and Jedi FO are heavily praised
@RustedYodaI know Titanfall especially does (which is a shame the way Apex has been handled imo) but heard mixed review with Jedi FO with limited force abilities, main character and general story being bland, performance issues even on high end rigs, lack of customisations, completing mission to walk back to your ship for up to 20 mins with no fast travel amongst other things.
Sounds like a grind to me but i haven't played it so i won't judge.Yeaah I mean I'm hoping it will live up to expectations for sure.
For me though as long as the high mobility is there I'll be happy. 😛
- @apostolateofDOOM oh yeah i agree FO had some problems like the bad customization or the map that sucked, but it had some very good positives.
@RustedYoda I've never actually played the game. I heard it didn't have much replay value which kinda put me off paying full RRP for it.
Is it worth playing? May get it now its dropped a bit.
- @MandatoryIDtag As long as they do it the way they did TF 1/2 in terms of development I’m confident it’ll be great once again. However, if they change stuff or add some kind of weird microtransaction, they’re screwed...
Hopefully THIS time the marketing team AND the heads who call the shots don’t become as thickheaded as the last 2 times and wont make it platform exclusive and also don’t essentially peacock block the sales by putting it in between 2 bigger behemoths so that it can get snowed under... >.>
I played a fair amount of mp of TF2 and a heck of an amount of 1... but I gotta say the SP of TF2 is one of the best I’ve played in all my time of gaming. So hopefully they recapture that mix of drama, action, unlikely friendship and comedy and they’ll have a strong SP once again - @apostolateofDOOM Geeez Nancy be a buzzkill 😂
@hayhor That's why i'm quietly retreating from the thread as i love rabbit pie but don't want to be the one to explain to the kids why i shot the Easter bunny.
I'll at least let them enjoy their chocolate before they see him hanging in the shed. 😉
- @Koochi-Q Agreed. Hopefully they stay with the development progression of the first 2 games, especially the single player from TF2. There really wasn't anything wrong with TF 2. It was just a terrible release date as you said. The game had everything...great single player, plenty of online modes, excellent post-launch support, a great co-op mode for those who wanted a break from PvP, plenty of pilot and Titan content to master...
TF2 has enjoyed a resurgence since Apex launched, so I think TF3 will do much better commercially. TF 2 was one of the free PS Plus games last December on PS4. It was drawing 80-100k during peak hours that month. It still was drawing 3-4k off peak hours this summer. This is double what it was doing before Apex. The Steam release has been a huge success too. - @ArchAngeL-PCX TF3, if released soon will be hugely successful just due to apex success. No doubt about that.
- @hayhor Not gonna be soon. If it’s early development, it’s still at least 2 years out ☹️
@Koochi-Q 5 with respawns rate of productivity lol. 😛
- @Koochi-Q Theyll still be blaming covid the !
I just wonder what the story is gonna be like. Will it tie in with apex legends I hope it does.
- @babyaga239 Why would you want that =_= I really hope it doesn’t. Let apex do apex story and let TF do TF story. There’s already so much untapped potential... no need to make it murky by adding Apex stuff in the mix.
@hayhor & @MandatoryIDtag you guys are mean xD @Koochi-Q I want more brutal Titan executions. IMO the executions for Titanfall 2 were really lackluster compared to 1, and maybe that's cause they were zoomed out and not first person like in TF1.
IMO the only good executions were Scorch Prime (which could've used a little more over the top violence if I'm being honest) Northstar, Legion, Tone Prime (which again, more violence), and Monarch's non-battery thief execution.
- @pastaclown I don’t really remember the executions all that much except the neck snapper :P If I play a game, unless it’s truly spectacular I don’t remember most of it, just that I enjoyed it or not.
I know I really enjoyed TF2, but mostly due to the SP :P @Koochi-QYeah TF3 needs to have its own story that ties into what they built in TF2. But I do think it would be smart of them to tie in some Apex lore. That would help attract the much larger Apex Legends player base which can only be a good thing for the future of TitanFall in general. They've laid groundwork for that with the Season 5 and Season 6 quest stories.
It helps that the weapons in Apex are taken directly from TitanFall and behave exactly the same. Also Apex Legend tactical abilities are based on existing pilot tactical abilities. So the transition for an Apex player should be pretty seamless. They would just have to get used to the pilot movement and dealing with Titans.
- @MandatoryIDtag its fun, good saber combat and the maps are beautiful, the characters are entertaining and make you want too see more of them, yeah it doesnt have much replay value so i dont think its worth the full 60 USD, but as a star wars fan i couldnt resist and its a great experience. Might be worth getting if the price has lowered though.
- @babyaga239 hopefully theres a bit of apex in TF3 but i really dont want them to forgot about cooper and BT and just throw wraith and caustic in there.
@RustedYoda You've sold it to me! I'll grab it on payday hehe.
- @ArchAngeL-PCX I do acknowledge that with the added Apex fans the TF sales will see a huge boost but they don’t really need it for 2 reasons:
1 TF is already a massively popular series but the only thing that held it back is executive decisions in both cases. TF1 being console exclusive for Xbox, while ps had the bigger playerbase (not complaining tho, but it’s the truth)
2 Squeezing TF2 in between RDR2 and CoD Black Ops... (who the F does that?!) while 2 other high profile games were couple weeks behind.
Since the launch even you could see public interest and with every sale ppl got it. So I know a lot of players want to play it. Mostly players who want fast mobility. If you get the core Apex audience involved, what will that lead to? Camping in TF, ppl saying mobility is too high (I can guarantee this one) as the flow of TF is higher than Apex could ever spit out, and ppl asking for TF to be more Apex-like.
Thats why I want the 2 titles to stay that. 2 titles that share the same universe. A little lore implementation or easter eggs is fine, but as soon as you start putting 1 legend in the TF game, ppl will ask for more and there should be a distinct separation in my book. Exactly as @RustedYoda mentions.
From what I can remember, the weapons don’t feel the same... then again I mostly played with the car 😜
