- @NirXF Have you heard of spyware? Phishing?
- E9ine_AC5 years agoHero+@NirXF Who obviously did not have 2 step set up or the account would not of been compromised considering no one can access the account without that phone number. So that explains that.
- @DoYaSeeMe read and comprehend my post then comeback here
- @NirXF Oh, but I did. I don't think you understand how hackers operate though. They usually attack the weaker points, which are the clients and the connections. Servers holding private data have a much higher level of security, it's mandatory.
2FA is meant to protect the clients better by reducing the window of opportunity for hackers. If your friend got his account compromised although the 2FA was active, it may be further indication that his machine, email, phone or connection security got breached. The security features EA provides are solid, it's really hard to break into 2FA & backup codes.
Even with keyloggers, it's extremely hard to get into an account with 2FA enabled and most of the time account hijackers move to another account when they bump into 2FA.
Most of the time users just type in their credentials on a random website.
Not going to say this was the case but it's almost always the user that did something that leads to their account being compermised.Darth gave a really useful link and I really recommend everyone to enable this feature.
I'll link some more useful links that can provide more information about account security and what can users do.
