@Gabrielmojo26 I miss the old days, and I don't at the same time. Just depends on what we're talking about. There is stuff from when the game launched that I loved and wish never went away, but there's also a lot of stuff that I'm glad has changed. I miss some POI's, some hop-ups and the power of some of the Legends, pre-nerf. I'm also happy to see some of the old POI's gone though
For me, the first couple seasons were actually the least fun. Not really because of gameplay, but because none of my friends migrated to Apex until around season 4. I was also absolutely trash at the game, trying to figure out the in's and out's of the movement and shields and whatnot, and BR in general. I had dabbled a little bit in PUBG before Apex, but this was definitely the first BR that I really dove into, so I got destroyed a LOT, even with a couple decades of FPS experience!! I spent a lot of matches hiding from people, because I wasn't confident in my gunfighting skills and movement and whatnot. These days though, I'm out there looking for fights, and pulling some pretty crazy movement plays (as crazy as console can be).
I think my peak fun, would have been maybe seasons 4-8/9 or so? I'd have to go back and see what was going on during those seasons, but that sounds right to me. That is when my two good friends played with me on a daily basis, and we had a blast! Then they went to Warzone (I refuse) for a few seasons, and now I get them on Apex fairly frequently again (they've uninstalled CoD countless times lmao), so the fun factor has increased again in the last couple seasons, for me.
I don't really pay attention to the cosmetics and store and whatnot. I'll take a gander to see what's there, but I rarely spend money on in-game stuff. I feel like the pushiness for cosmetics in video games these days, is mostly geared for streamers and kids that are spending their parents money, Lol! Heck, I think the last time I paid for the Battle Pass on here, was season 2. I roll my coin rewards forward, to get the BP for free each season. I've basically gotten 12 Battle Passes for $10 total, so far XD
I will definitely admit, that I have been fortunate enough to NOT have to deal with a lot of the issues that I have seen others dealing with, so that definitely contributes to my fun factor. If I had to deal with constant issues like I see others dealing with, I'd have stopped playing a long time ago. I stopped playing the CoD franchise years ago because it simply stopped being fun at all, and haven't regretted it once. I play video games for fun. I used to play competitively, a long time ago, but I just don't care enough anymore. I have enough crap to deal with in real life, I don't have time to get bent out of shape over a video game, especially a free one. (Definitely not directing that at you. This isn't a "bent outta shape" thread. I've just seen some pretty angry people, going way overboard over a dang video game, re: twitch rage compilation videos and countless rant threads on here, Lmao)
All that being said, I definitely reminisce about the old stuff I loved, quite often! I'll find myself in matches all the time, where a situation occurs and reminds me of an old feature, or old POI or rotation pathway or something like that, and I get a little warm feeling in muh belly.
TL;DR I miss some stuff (POI's, balancing changes etc.), but don't miss other stuff (other POI's, other balancing changes etc.). Still have fun playing Apex with my buddies. Not so much, when solo
