Curious if anyone would be open to a new slug shotgun, along the lines of the KSG from the CoD series? I know the PK is kinda sorta like this, when charged. I'm talking about a shotgun that only shoots slugs though, with higher range than the others. Not a sniper-shotty with the ridiculous range of the old KSG, but something with more reach than the current buck shot, and maybe a slower fire rate. Or it could be fairly powerful, but have a single-shot mag. Any takers?

@KelRiever I'm not sure about an energy shotgun, personally. I wouldn't mind an energy pistol (someone on here suggested it previously), but a shotgun should stick with shotty ammo, imo. I liked the Havoc select-fire, but since we already have the PK that has a sort of alternate fire, I would prefer to see just a straight-up slug shotgun.The 30-30 is definitely powerful when you hit shots! Wouldn't "slugs" be just a different type fo shotgun ammo to pick up? You wouldn't need a new gun for that surely.

@dSKyNafinchin As someone that has used a slug shotgun to hunt deer they aren't quite the same I guess. As someone else said range and accuracy is really less than what we see from the 3030.

Shotguns, as they stand, are very weak. This isn't to say you can't get kills with them, but they have mostly turned into early game guns with their inability to really put a cap on people like a shotgun actually should at close range. Too much crying, as usual, and blaming a gun instead of realizing you shouldn't be standing so close to your enemy that you can kiss them.But sort of the 30-30 is that, isn't it? And I have to say it's pretty good at what it does. I would run with that. If anything got added to shotguns, it'd be straight damage for most of them (the PK, and weirdly the Moz, are ok). The Mastiff, even with the double shot, is hot trash.I would not mind seeing an energy shotgun. Which I know would be weird...and, the PK is that. Something that uses energy ammo though would be a little crazy and nice. And maybe do that thing the havoc used to do as a firing alternative, but instead of making a steady damage over range beam, do a beam that has huge short range damage and a lot of fall off damage at range.The 30-30 is choice, though. Feels good when you get dem hits. One of the silver linings of this game of squirt guns right now.

@MandatoryIDtag Pump would be perfect. Not sure what the current shotguns' ranges are, but that sounds reasonable to me. Definitely don't want it to the be the OP sniper-of-a-shotgun from older CoD's. I'd even be ok with a range up to 35m. Base fire rate would need to be slow enough, to where it doesn't become OP with a purple choke on it. Maybe a hop-up similar to FMJ, which would allow the slugs to penetrate targets and potentially damage enemies behind the front target, or perhaps penetrate through doors/wondows, although that sounds pretty OP now that I type it out

Yes please. Love slug shotguns in Destiny 2, would love to see them in this game where they have a more realistic view of shotgun ranges.

Interesting that you say this. The recent findings from data miners about the potential upcoming hop-ups show us that internally, the PK is called "energy shotgun."

I'm not sure I would like a slug shotgun, in the games Ive seen that implemented this they are just done wrong, they get longer range with good precision, while the real thing gets range and insane pen force but wildly inaccurate at range.
Already the PK got some wild range when used correctly with the choke though.
In general I think all shotties work fairly well (however personally I cant get the eva to work as it for sure dont fit my prefered playstyle), but as a secondary weapon. There is two ways of using a shotty, either as a CQC initiator to follow up with an smg or ar or as a finisher after you empty the smg or ar (i prefer the first). Shotties however require that you aim correctly for the shotty to get the proper damage out of it, and this also differs based on the legend you play as they have different heigh profiles, but the shooting range can really help you to make your shotty work your way 😉

@hayhor I mean, when you boil it down, I guess any semi-auto weapon is essentially a slug shotgun. They still feel like AR's/MR's though, so I'd still love to see a proper shotgun version. They've had a great feel to me, in the games I've played with them on.

@Zkepz You're absolutely right. The current shotguns work perfectly fine. I don't want a slug shotgun because the current ones are bad, I have just always loved the feel of dropping some poor morsel with a nice heavy slug. I've enjoyed them in multiple games over the years, aside from the fact that they are usually a bit too powerful and/or straight up broken, haha. It would hopefully be more balanced on here, than in past games

@RockDokRock Eh, that would be pretty boring. I would greatly prefer if they added a new gun. None of the current shotguns have that KSG "feel" of a powerful slug shotty. PK is probably closest, but it's a fictional, gimmicky weapon. I just like the feel of slug shotties, and none of the current ones satisfy that, for me at least
