"Smurf accounts have been around since the dawn of gaming. "
Incorrect.
We will only discuss the period after gaming went online as the real dawn of gaming were all isolated machines.
Online gaming in it's early days had ladder and tourney systems to determine rank/skill
It was not until somewhere around 2004ish where MLG started pushing what was the predecessor stats based rankings you have today.
Smurfing was not an issue till that system was put into play.
Before that people used alias accounts but that was for anonymity on public servers....not really to game some ranksystem that didn't exist yet.
Having a 2nd or 3rd account is not smurfing.
Smurfing is when those are used to intentionally stay and play at a rank lower than where you belong.

1. And? Do a streamer have right to have a dozens of other accounts?
2. ??? Why?
3. ??
yes... you should be banned!
- @cpt_kozaka I'd say that one could be dependent on the situation. If you look at it like this: you don't have the same email address at home as you do at work, right? It could very possibly be a public vs private scenario.

EA should take Money for Apex, this would make it less worse.
- @DarthValtrex No, they are forced to smurf because their accounts are suspended for weak reasons.
why is there even a problem if someone has one or several accounts wtf, they do whatever they want with their life and time

@NaRnIaaa
Where the problem is?
I think a lot of newbies stop playing & Predators like to annoy platinum players.Cheater would also have a twice thought about do that or not.

I’m not convinced that reducing the SBMM would result in the game dying. Apex was doing well before they ramped things up (back before the Duos update in 2019); the game had grossed close to half a billion at that point. I agree that they are probably making even more money now, we’re talking about a company maximizing profits, not outright saving their game from death.
I get it though. People love their SBMM. Some people feel that every single match should be as ultra competitive and sweaty as possible. SBMM isn’t going anywhere. But my argument is that they need to reward above average players more for their skill.
If I’m going to sweat in public lobbies that LITERALLY have over 80% Pred contrails (despite those players only constituting less than 1% of the player base) then I should be offered greater incentive to play. Once you reach level 500, sweating in pubs is actually pointless. They need to either increase the level cap or offer better rewards. - DarthValtrex5 years agoHero (Retired)@Axs5626Sxa5001 You might have some points there. I think it depends how it's reduced. I'm a mediocre player who has some brilliant moments. I don't mind when I'm bumped into the predator lobbies.
