Stance on steam macros for controller?

Ever since around S10 of the game I've started noticing controller tap strafers (on pc). This is done through steam controller configurator on steam that allows users to bind controller keys to mnk keys and make layers of keybinds. I believe thats all fair. But when I think its not fair is when it allows for "turbos" which are just another term for a macro. As far as I understand turbos repeat an assigned key at a specified rate configurable through steam. This leads me to a conclusion that this is a macro and should not be allowed. However lots of people argue that it isn't using "third-party" software therefore its completey justifiable and fine for people to use these macros as they are built into steam even tho they go against TOS section 6 "Use or distribute unauthorized software programs or tools (such as "auto", "macro", hack or cheat software), or use exploits, bugs or problems in an EA Service to gain unfair advantage." (source: https://tos.ea.com/legalapp/WEBTERMS/US/en/PC/#section6).

  • @redpzHey there, Any macros that can allow a person automation movement or firing is a bannable offense. Swapping of key binds and stuff like that is allowed but anything that performs automation is not. Pretty much remapping keys is fine. Any other 3rd party sources that the game can not offer in its settings will not be.
