The gun takes absolutely no skill to use, people are just running around with it spraying bullets in hip fire all over the place. I'd rather have the OP mastiff back in the game than this spitfire. Numerous lobbies are filled with squads that have 2-3 spitfires, with a never ending spray of bullets being sent your way.It's made snipers basically useless. Snipers used to be fairly effective in that range that was some place between long and mid range. Now you can't even use them there, try and peak to line up a shot? You'll get a never ending spray of bullets sent at you. From a gun that has next to no recoil and a magazine that's massive. If the want to keep the buff, boost the recoil and substantially. Never ending bullet spray should have some expense..

Ahhh this is nostalgic lol, I remember the spitfire nerf demands of old.Amazing how they can screw the same weapon up twice.....perhaps they should just work to properly balance all of the weapons rather than randomly overpowering weapons here and there under the guise of "changing the meta".

@DarthValtrex pls no more recoil(especially random recoil). If they want to nerf it just add damage fall off so snipers can still peak and shoot.

@DarthValtrexAll of the evidence points to one agenda:Improve the experience for the casual player. Buffing an already easy to use gun is just another example of this. Cater to the largest player group and maximize your profit margins.

@apostolateofDOOM The vast majority of my deaths are happening to spitfires right now. It's ridiculous and it's not because the gun is great, it's because they just spray bullets endlessly until you're knocked. You literally have to 1 clip everyone who has one or you stand no chance at all. If you have to reload your gun, you're dead.

The spitfire buff was not necessary and probably not the greatest move.

@Daze623 They could reduce the hip fire movement speed quite a bit and the ADS movement. I think that might work, if this was real life, no one is going to spinning circles while spraying bullets from an LMG like that. Few people could fire an LMG standing up, let alone be bouncing off walls spraying bullets in every direction.

The gun is basically an LMG version of the charge rifle with a massive magazine.

@MandatoryIDtag I think they were trying to make the gun balanced. Before the buff the spitfire was really just a noob gun for people who wanted some success but could not handle recoil/tracking and all of that.. It was a gun with a massive magazine that you could fire endlessly at enemies as you tried to figure out movement and tracking. Once they got that down they could start to experiment with less forgiving guns, things like the 301.

Now it seems like every team has at least one person spraying bullets at you endlessly.

I'm not against it being a decent gun and it might be right now. It might just be me needing to adjust my game play to the gun.

The Devo is I think fairly balanced despite being the highest DPS gun in the game. It's recoil and movement all just seem to make it balanced IMO.

@hayhor It's the muzzle flash, if you hip fire it or turn your ADS up and run a 2x or 3x on it you'll do alright with it. What I do when I pick it up is put the 2x on it and turn my per optic 2x ADS up. Keep my 1x the same just run that on my secondary.

@hayhor When I run it, I tend to run with a 99 or Volt, depends whats available and what magazines I find on drop.

The spitfire I use at ranges the 99/volt really are not that great at. The 99/volt I use in the CQC fights. It's a fairly solid combo. I do think the flatline or 301 is a slightly better gun still. But those guns have 0 margin for error vs spitfire players. If you have to reload you're dead. I get downed by the players who don't miss shots with their anvil hop ups.

Most of the time that I die to spitfire players, it's happening in one of three ways. The entire team is running it (or at least 2 are), I down one enemy and the second gets me. You can't run and reload or do much of anything because their magazine is just never ending. The other is the spitfire player sort of hangs back a bit and spams shots at me.

I would agree that anytime you have 2 people shooting at you, you'll be lucky to down 1 of them. But the spitfire has really lowered the success rate of pulling off clutches like that.

I don't know if the gun needs a nerf. It's just a really obnoxious gun to deal with at times. Especially when the person who killed you shot 80% of their magazine into the wall. It's a third partiers dream gun that's for sure.. Oh look fighting, I'm just going to sit here and spray bullets endlessly.
