Useless thing that you've learnt?

1: Spiders and Scorpions are NOT deadly venomous at all, the "deadliest" spider in the world (Australian Redback) has not caused a single fatality in about 50 years and even before antivenom rarely caused deaths in elderly people with preexisting heart complications.

2: there is only 1 snake in the whole world with venom specialized to kill warm blooded mammals (inland Taipan)

3: the Human eye is peerless in resolving details on object at super long ranges.

4: humans are lonely at the top in long distance running of all animals. 

5: it's possible for water to go below 0° celsius without crystalizing.

6: Apple rips off customers with scummy repair scams.

7: Dragon Trees can be propagated with stem cuttings

8: there are three types of UV light (A B and C) with different wavelengths, 2 of those can damage cells and cause cancer. but 1 does not.

9: a grown tree costs thousands in property value.

10: political loads ruined conventional television.

To keep it short: applied stress load on building structure.

In college I had a whole semester of formulas on wind shear, velocity, gravity etc. The final exam was a blueprint for an arched bridge with directional velocity.

It took 4 hours to complete the exam question of structural degradation and possible points of fatique as well as points of high stress. (Alot more than this, but I am trying to keep it short.)

This was over 10 years ago, still haven't built a bridge.

@EA_BarryI actually saw a real Saturn V in Huntsville, Alabama at the Space and Rocket Center. They also had a few F-1 engines on display. I also saw the capsules from a few of the Apollo missions. But I'm a huge aerospace nerd.. If you're into there are some really good youtube channels out there these days. Scott Manley has a ton of great content and interesting discussions. 

I'm hoping to make it the National Aerospace museum at Wright-Patterson Air force Base in Ohio one of these days. They have an XB-70 on display. If you want to really get into rockets check out Tripoli Rocket Association. You can go to one of their monthly launches and see some really cool stuff. They meet up about an hour from my house once a month and launch rockets up to 40,000 feet... The airspace is closed for them for a bit.. I made my nephew a rocket for xmass one year, sent it up to about 2k feet. I really did not understand how high 2000 feet was until it launched.. It just kept going and going and going.. I was sitting there thinking uhh maybe this was a bad idea.

I hardly remember it but when I was a kid my parents took me to see the Spruce Goose when it was still in Socal. They still allow people to walk through it and I believe sit in the pilots seats. I think my parents have a picture of me sitting in the seat that Howard Hughes sat in I was only 3-4 at the time. 

looking at yourself in the mirror as seen by a camera on your hat while you wear the hat is visible to the camera, but look a stones throw away and the camera cant see that far because of the distance making the angle greater.

I love cars and drag racing... so imagine you are driving the average $140,000 Lingenfelter "twin-turbo" powered Corvette Z06. Over a mile up the road, a Top Fuel dragster is staged and ready to launch down a quarter mile strip as you pass. You have the advantage of a flying start. You run the Vette hard up through the gears and blast across the starting line and past the dragster at an honest 200 mph. The 'tree' goes green for both of you at that moment. The dragster launches and starts after you. You keep your foot down hard, but you hear an incredibly brutal whine that sears your eardrums and within 3 seconds the dragster catches and passes you. He beats you to the finish line, a quarter mile away from where you just passed him. Think about,  it, from a standing start, the dragster had spotted you 200 mph and not only caught, but nearly blasted you off the road when he passed you within a mere 1320 foot long race course. My fav useless fact 👍

Wanna talk about something useless? Quantitative literacy. Three months of grammar exercises and basic math that I'll never use in my accounting career.
