The cheating is so rampant in ranked right now I'd say at least 75% of the players are using those cheat boxes. Ranked really isn't worth playing right now until they start a ban wave for these people abusing the system.
Notice they all have rapid fire and their guns empty out almost instantly. Guns like the Prowler and G7 fire automatically instead of their normal shots. Also, they use illegal movement in console, meaning they are either using illegal key binds or they are MnK players using emulation.
I've played ranked for 4 hours tonight, and not one match do I feel I lost fair and square. It's rare you fight a team that is not like this. I think early rookie 4 are the only lobbies that are probably fair right now.
- RaginSam8 months agoSeasoned Ace@fatucoj7 Staying alive over trying to fight everything. Fight for positioning, not for KP.
Prioritize getting to into the circle, rather than trying to gate keep, unless you have a really good position to do so. Like on top of a building, overseeing the nearest lane to zone.
Work with teammates, keep them up, revive, give cover when they're behind and need to retreat.
Like AymCTL said though, the cheaters are out of control as usual. Not sure where people get these numbers that thousands of players are banned, because that's not what I'm seeing. Just yesterday, one of the most blatant rage hacks I've ever seen, riding around a trident, solo demolishing team after team. They ended up getting 27 kills and nearly 6k damage lol. I'm constantly getting shot through geometry and behind cover, which means the bullets are tracking and registering in non legitimate ways. Then you have people pre-firing and lining you up before they should even know you exist.
Play, but don't take the game seriously. Please do not hijack another's thread to "rant" about another topic.
That is not very helpful nor nice.
Try to stay on Topic.
Position is King.
Learn when and how to rotate to be in a good position in the ring. Do not wait until the last second to rotate.
Inside the ring find good defensible and if possible high ground areas to hold.
Holding chokepoints is good.
Having to rotate through contested chokepoints is bad.
Learn when to not push fights that are not good fights and reset/rotate away. Do not overcommit to a losing battle.
3 stacking helps a lot especially with comms.
If you are three stacking, one player needs to take charge of the team IGL them. The others need to listen to the IGL.
Die a lot, it is going to happen anyways. Think of the last 20 seconds before each time and what you could have done better and then think about the last minute before that. Learn from your mistakes. If you record that stuff you can review it.
Best of Luck.
Work on improving your basic gun skills, the above is great but if you cannot hit a target they wont help. However you can have mad gun skills but if you cannot learn the above it is harder to win games.
@RaginSam is pretty on point with what they mentioned "Staying alive over trying to fight everything. Fight for positioning, not for KP.

@Asmodeus566I apologize. I deleted the previous post since as you say it was off topic and belongs in a different discussion. You all have been good about helping me and giving me advice, and I apologize if my post was offensive.
To stay on topic, I would like to say the advice you gave for ranked is excellent. To elaborate, the least successful matches I've had in ranked this season have been the ones where the other two squad members land where like 3 other teams are landing (such as on top of a building) and put us in a situation where we must race to get the guns and shoot, most often dying at the beginning. Also, some do not worry about positioning and just rush into a fight not worrying about cover, hoping to overpower the other person, but they are usually unsuccessful.
The.matches where I got the highest rp we dropped away from other teams, got our loot, and as Asmodeus was saying, did not take every fight, but just the ones where we thought we had a chance.
So, no matter how difficult ranked is right now, you have ways you can better your chances of getting a good amount of rp even if you die. Nothing was offensive and you did not have to remove the post.
It was just a small reminder to stay on topic.
Thank you for being you and a part of the community.
Playing Ranked with Randoms can be tough as you described. That's why I suggest 3 stacking.
Otherwise you just have to hope for the best and if the randoms do really dumb stuff like going off to 1v3 then sometimes you just have to let them and then try as best you can to do your own thing.

Just a quick expansion on one or two points others have already mentioned.
This entire game is built around the tension that exists between what your instincts tell you to do and what you actually should do. Engagement vs. survival. One is fun, the other is "boring." Some will say you can't survive without fighting, and that is generally (though not always) true. But the real truth is that the more fighting you do the more your odds of failure increase. It really is that simple. Fight less, win more. The questions are two-fold. How do you get the gear you need and the position you want without constantly having to fight for it? And second, even more important, how do you get an entire population of trigger-happy, short attention span randoms to go along with you? There are all kinds of good answers to the first question, and none for the second. - reconzero8 months agoSeasoned Ace@AymCTL
"I think early rookie 4 are the only lobbies that are probably fair right now."
I played the rookies at the beginning of the season while I waited for Revival to die. I never saw or fought a single player in that time who was anything less than a bell curve-average mid-platinum player. Not a single one. @Asmodeus566 "Position is King."
I would say my BEST strategy suggestion to win more ranked games would be to find people you know to play with and have similar interest in terms of gameplay.
I personally watch A LOT of competitive Apex because I love the strategic approach thats required. So I know something about the possible end circle locations, god (game winning) spots etc helping me to play this game better as I cant keep up mechanically or aim wise.
Reason why I dont win that many games (EDIT: besides me having 0 movement skills and below average MnK aim) is I only play soloQ since I dont really have any IRL gaming friends nor am I interested in making new ones from the internet.
Countless times have I dragged my randoms to good spot and told them to just lay low for a while. Get some kills when circles start closing okay?
And how many times have my adderall randos ran away after some KP and lost us the game just because they couldnt wait one full minute for the ring to land on us.
Without teamwork the position isnt really a factor for the win.Made a meme. Hope it brings you a smile on your ranked struggles.

Everything about that post was perfection, but "adderall randos" was the capper. Sums up the entire game in two words. Well done! "Without teamwork the position isnt really a factor for the win."
Ahhh, well said and very true. Teamwork makes the dream work.
However I tend to put myself in the position of playing with a full premade stack so positioning is still king 🙂
