Where does our money go Respawn?

Can I ask you a question Respawn? Where does our money go? Instead of making crappy tasteless skins, how about you actually improve the servers, fix bugs and most certainly PREPARE YOURSELVES for the amount of players coming up each season? How about that? Isn't that a great idea to keep your player base alive? Because I can tell you right now, most of us are going to leave if you are not doing anything about it. Like what in the actual hell, EVERY SEASON you are doing the exactly same mistakes than the previous ones. Why? You are just shooting yourselves in the legs at this point.

  • @Nova_IV pretty much as @KelRiever says.

    Also, from here: https://www.reddit.com/r/apexlegends/comments/id7tyd/if_evoarmor_is_going_to_become_the_norm_this/g28smw2/?context=1000

So two things can be assumed here:

    1. If Respawn truly isn't having any time crunches held down by EA, then all the crap that's buggy, untested, or clunky has passed through their own quality assurance department and they went, "Yeah this is good." Meaning that having 20hz servers is fine for them, having gimmicky rereleases of old events is fine for them, having terrible net-code and audio issues persist for seasons on end is fine for them, because it's making them money. They've also said multiple times they don't know what they're doing, which is really what you want to hear from people who sell you 18 dollar skins.

    2. If EA is putting a time crunch on the devs, it's most likely to push for more sellable cosmetics rather than fixes for pre-existing issues.

@KelRieverLOL that's not how publicly traded companies work. What EA does with their profits depends on the CEO and executives. Some of it does back into the game to do things such as build the design studio that EA recently opened which will be dedicated to Apex. Granted its opening has probably been impacted by COVID.

Some of it goes towards developing new titles completely unrelated to Apex. Some of it pays the EA employees and Respawn employees who create the game. A very small percentage turns into Net profits, what does turn into net profits is typically paid out via Dividends. None of those profits go directly into the CEO pocket. I guess in some ways it does indirectly, if the company and stock is performing well, the CEO will likely get a bonus. How those bonuses are paid and approved really depend on the companies performance the terms of the CEO contract with the company. But it's not like you think..

CEO main goal is to see their business grow and remain profitable. How they go about that really depends on the person. I'd say EA is doing quite well considering the player numbers, their stock values and so on. If you think having the best performing games is not part of their goal, your vastly mistaken. If I was CEO it would be my top priority.

I’m just saying the money doesn’t go to developers or the game itself. Activision’s is the same way. Payment in the game industry has been unfair for some time which is why unions are being considered for it.

Bit payment goes to the execs like it or not, that’s widely known .
