Whole Energy Weapon Category is Useless

There are two energy weapons in this game. Devotion and Triple Take. And honestly, there are no reasons to pick these up unless you're bare hands.

The devotion has a massive disadvantage with miserable ammo efficiency. Energy ammo is scarce(hopefully this will be mitigated by introducing new energy weapons) and poor backpack usage(only 60 stacks in inventory)

Even with the turbocharger, this weapon is half decent. You could argue this weapon has the shortest TTK in the game with the maximum rate. But the whole 'charging up' and 'negative recoil' is a fiasco. Charging up means you don't have the ability to alpha strike. Plus if the enemy has the initiative(like higher ground), the devotion is worthless.

If you are having the positional advantage, other weapons will do just fine.

All in all the devotion will make you little stronger on an advantageous situation and makes you far weaker on the bad situation.

Triple take is already famous for the most terrible sniper rifle. No extended magazine, and horrid charging speed. 

And by the love of god, why there are no extended magazines for whole energy weapons?

This seriously hampers the potential of the weapons. They just can't keep up with other weapon categories to the late game.

Although I admit they are pretty strong on early game. but this is really an intended feature?

  • Devotion can shred through a player it's one of the highest dps guns in the game. I agree there needs to be more energy ammo in the game though since a lot of players don't even carry it, I try stocking up on it early on in the game if I plan on getting a devotion.

    You're wrong about the triple take, I think it's one of the best snipers in game definitely my favorite sniper, it''s just easy to hit with the thing at close range and long range, you can use the thing like a shotgun or a sniper. It definitely needs the hop up later game though to be effective. Look at it's stats, it's faster dps than a longbow, it's potentially higher damage than the longbow.

  • Energy weapons are fine imo.

    Devotion is power full, but when your aim is poor you'll burn through its ammo quite rapidly.

    The Tripple take is also quite the powerful weapon on medium range. shot x 3 impacts.

    They just need to add more energy weapons and more ammo drops, like a beam weapon plz, plasma weapon plz !

  • I would love to se a energy SMG , Handgun and maybe some kind of launcher... energy orb granade style ( like a throwing star launcher maybe ).
  • How wrong you are...about the Triple Take.

    Without counting for Ultimate Weapons, it is up there as one of the most powerful sniper weapons and a crazy 'shotgun-style' close range weapon.

    The Devotion is also extremely powerful (especially when you find the Golden Devotion Hop which reduced wind-up time).

    The Triple Take will kill you in Purple Armour in 2 shots...like the Peacekeeper.

    So I have to disagree.

    Also, more weapons are planned/ (I heard rumours of an energy consuming, Burst Rifle of some kind?)

    And also, trust me when I say that will learn to respect and fear an enemy with the Triple Take.

    IIRC i was hitting guys in white armour for like 66 damage with the triple take,each shot hit for 22 ish,this was with the charge hopup,not sure how you come to the conclusion triple take 2 shots purple armour...
