You're just not good enough to hot drop.

I am able to play this game at least a couple of hours most nights. I've played thousands of games total and I am still just completely confused by the number of people that insist on hot dropping. Now we all know that Respawn is wholly unable, incapable, and unwilling to make a semi-decent matchmaking experience so I don't need to go through all of that here. Suffice to say, in 95% of games I out damage both teammates combined usually 3 to 1. The experience of solo queue is so bad as to be comical, except that it completely ruins one of my favorite games.

I guess I just don't understand why these same teammates that I am cursed with decide that Fragment drops or the Oasis/Bonsai drops are the only things they can do. Is it fun for these trashcans to drop and be eliminated in the first 15 seconds? Most of these kids can't shoot a gun and hit someone when they're sneaking up behind them, let alone when they hot drop next to four people.

I can't even imagine how many of my thousands of games are decided by whether or not I can eliminate the squad(s) that drop with us while my two other trashy teammates get 0 kills and 15 damage. Again, it would be funny if it wasn't so pathetically sad. So my message to the Apex community: You're just not good enough to hot drop. Please stop and learn to play the game. Or better yet, quit the game immediately and stop ruining other people's fun.

Yeah. And to make the situation even worse, I hate when that happens plus my two teammates take almost everything in the immediate area. And they spam pings when they get downed/want me to grab their banners.

Yeah, sorry I can't 1v3 the two enemy squads we dropped here with, with that single Arc Star you left me, and revive/respawn you within 10 seconds. I didn't even want to land here to begin with, but I was trying to be a team player.

The amount of times that the scenario I just described has happened to me, over the course of me playing this game, is unreal.

  • I play solo and hotdrop alot below d3 because i get potential frag games that are very rewarding experience rather then sitting doing nothing for 15 minutes.. I dont wait if my banner expires or camp when my teammates die but i still keep gaining RP up until d3 so it dont really bother me to die in hotdrop every now and then in exchange for some proper shooting

  • @nejackso1 just started ranked up today & last 2 games they hot dropped to Fragment. I was like NOPE! Landed somewhere close then joined them in Frag where we proceeded to die lol
  • I agree with a lot of what you said and I have spoken about this before. There's no point in landing hot, team gets destroyed, and doing it all over again game after game after game. There isn't enough decent loot to go around to begin with so the majority of the time the team with the best loot will win the encounter. We also always seem to be one of the last teams on the ground which means that at that point we're just handing out free kills to the opposition. But try explaining that to your random teammates... I'm not saying I'm any good but I had around 120 wins in season 4 (with a ping of 200) just by avoiding this dumb practice and trying to play smart instead. Way more wins than I'm able to get in this season and the last combined which speaks for itself as to the direction the game (or playerbase) is headed..

Literally just played a match. Two of them hot dropped. They immediately died. I picked up the slack. They left either because they don't like it when someone knows how to hold their own and egos are shattered. Or yeah that's just it.

  • @nejackso1I totally read this at first as you being critical of people who are against hot dropping lol, my mistake.

Totally agree, I’m not the best player by far and my KD wouldn’t support me as the greatest, either. However, in the past few seasons, I can say I’ve been screwed by teammates far more often than when the game first came out. Biggest reason: they foolishly hot drop into areas that squads already landed at AND have looted before you get there. Like, as the JM, how are you not looking around to see how many other squads are flying to the same spot and how far along they are to landing there? It’s literally common sense, doesn’t even require skill at the game to know that, if that scenario is happening, it’s probably best you don’t land in the same exact spot as a good chunk of the squads are doing.

When this happens I will land in a different spot, although nearby, from my teammates. I love watching them get killed right away then spam ping me, and I just shake my controller back and forth as they’re viewing my screen. Sometimes I’ll even hop on the mic and say, “make better decisions” lol. I’d be less mean about it to this day but it’s literally happened to me SO MANY TIMES and it’s a big reason why I always get hard stuck in Plat every single split, so I’m long past annoyed now.
