I think I solved this extremely annoying issue which I had since last night (I think I could only play the game 1 out of every 20 times I tried to open it).
Apparently, the Data Center you are using can get deselected and that is the reason we get that "A new Origin Update is available " message. So you only need to do the Data Center selection process, choose the one that gives you the lowest ping and it will allow you to play.
These are the steps to select your Data Center:
Start the game normally on PC.
Wait (for about 60 seconds) for the main menu screen to pop up with the instructions requiring you to press a button.
Click the exit button to get out of the main menu but cancel the choice
Once you go through these steps, you can find a "Data Center" option at the bottom of the screen. Click on it.
Scroll through the list of all servers to find one with the best ping and then pick it.
Close the game and open it again. It should be working now.
I did it and still not working. Help me please!
I read in another guys comments that the problem was due to one of his launch options and I started having the "new update" problem yesterday, the same day I added some launch options, so that might be the problem. I deleted all my launch options earlier.
How do I lower priority?
