"A new origin update is available"

Anyone else getting the "A new origin update is available. Restart to play" or whatever it says.

I have literally tried everything on ea.com/unable-to-connect. I reinstalled the game and origin, removed any and all files of the game, cleared cache, flushed dns/renewed IP, allowed the game and origin in the firewall, tried changing datacenters in the menu. I'm not sure what to now.. No matter what I do or try I cannot get pass that screen message.

The only thing that works is when I'm on the screen with the message and someone invites me to group it will go pass the screen. But I cannot play alone, which is a bit frustrating.

  • I had this too, for some reason I had to click play through the origin launcher. The desktop shortcut didn't work, neither did accepting invites.

    Hi, I have this issue every time I play..
    Some fixes I have:
    - Go to Origin > Library > Apex Legends > Update Game. Work sometimes!
    - Open Origin > Go to the Task Manager and close it from there > Open Origin and Launch Game from there.
