I was facing the same issue with Antimalware Service Executable causing high CPU and even blue screens. Updating to Windows 10 version 2004 helped a lot—it includes performance fixes for this. Antimalware service executable, a.k.a. msmpeng.exe, is an integral component of Microsoft’s Windows Defender antivirus service. It’s fundamental role is to "detect” & “handle” malicious code that can jeopardize the system’s security. Also found a helpful blog on Antimalware Service Executable that explains ways to reduce CPU usage related to Defender. Worth checking out for detailed steps.
I hope it helps!
