Apex account on xbox became my pc account instead of my xbox acc going to my pc

When cross progression came out i was playing on pc with some progress already and i was using the same ea acc as I was when I was on xbox however whne i tried to merge accounts it said my xbox account wasnt linked even though i never owned another email or ea acc so i linked my xbox account back to the ea account and instead of my pc becoming my old xbox account it stayed the same and changed my xbox account to my pc account. So is there anyway I can get my old account back because its not on my xbox anymore?
