Apex crashes silently after EAC passes, no error log (other EAC games work)
Hello,
I'm having an ongoing issue where Apex Legends will not launch on PC. I've tried troubleshooting it myself without success, so I'd appreciate your help.
■ Symptoms
When I start the game, the Easy Anti-Cheat splash screen appears and completes normally. The game then switches to the main screen, a loading screen flashes for a moment, and at that instant the game closes completely — with no error message or dialog of any kind.
I checked Windows Event Viewer, but no crash logs (Application Error or similar) were recorded.
■ System specs
OS: Windows 11
CPU: Intel Core i9-13900KF
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti
RAM: 32GB DDR5
Storage: Crucial P5 Plus 1TB (CT1000P5PSSD8)
Platform: Both Steam and EA app versions
■ Troubleshooting already attempted (none resolved the issue)
- Verified game file integrity
- Uninstalled and reinstalled Apex Legends
- Uninstalled and reinstalled the EA app
- Clean installation of GPU drivers
- Deleted videoconfig.txt to reset display settings
- Launched in windowed mode using the "-window -novid" launch options
- Performed a clean boot (all background/startup software disabled)
- Disabled antivirus real-time protection and added exclusions for the game
- Reviewed audio devices (disabled unused devices, set all to 48000Hz, turned off exclusive mode)
- Disabled the hypervisor (Hyper-V / Virtualization-Based Security)
- Created a new Windows user account and tested launching from it
- Repaired and reinstalled Easy Anti-Cheat
- Ran the game as administrator
■ Additional information
Other titles that use the same Easy Anti-Cheat software launch and run without any problems on this same PC. Because of this, I don't believe the anti-cheat software or my PC environment is the cause, and I suspect the issue is specific to Apex Legends.
If there is anything else I should check, or if there are any logs you'd like me to collect and send, please let me know. I'd be happy to provide them.
■ What I'm hoping to find out
- Has anyone experienced the same symptom?
- If you managed to fix it, what worked?
- Is there any way to make Apex itself produce a crash log?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Thank you very much for your help.
go to C:\Users\"username"\Saved Games\Respawn\Apex\profile and delete the profile.cfg file and then try running apex again. I went crazy trying to fix this issue for like 3 days until i found the answer on the forums
