Apex does not recognize my controller

I bought a new Microsoft XBox One Wireless Controller. When I plug the cable into the controller, Apex does not recognize the controller and does not switch. I have tried it with the cable and with a Bluetooth adapter. Neither worked. Steam recognizes the controller and I can play other games with it. Once I was able to move the mouse (the circle) with it and start shooting range and open my inventory but not move or anything. Nothing works at all and I don't know why. Thanks for your help
