Apex freezes and will not close, have to open task manager and close the game from there on my second monitor as my main monitor goes black when I try to alt + tab.Win key + Shift + Right arrow key, to get the task manager over to second monitor for users with same problem, insted of rebooting.trying to track the problem, but it seems to happend on random. But more often on heroes like Octane & Mirage. This should be their #1 priority right now. Still same problem here. Very stable overclock off i7 8700k@4.8Ghz and last time I played on Thursday last week for several hours and no problems (or ever before). Today logged in for the new event and I was able to finish exactly one game. I play every competitive game on very low so it is usually CPU bound and stressing the CPU really hard and never ever had any problem. After this patch is the game is literally unplayable (I'm not meme-ing)

@EA_Blueberry 5 games after patch and no crash or freeze yet, guess you guys nailed it thanks...

i7 9700K got crashes since the new update hopefully someone finds out what's up with these crashes

Sometimes I get a black screen, 100% cpu in use, music is heard, you cannot enter the task manager.

Got this myself today.
Got no message in my event viewer and no crash log so i don't really know how to troubleshoot this. 🤔

I can not do anything on the desktop, the picture turns white or black, the game sound is audible, there is no error report, it only helps to reset the computer

I have been having this same issue as well the past few days. It only happens when I am in a match. Sometimes screen goes black, other times the screen just freezes. I have to have task manager open on my second monitor in order to close it because task manager starts up behind the game usually and I can't get back to the desktop on my main monitor. I just recently noticed that it reads 100% CPU usage as well, when it normally reads about half that or less (I googled that and that is how I stumbled across this forum thread, glad to find out it isn't my hardware failing on me).

tried many workarounds and tinkering to fix this but no joy, noticed the 100% cpu usage too...

@MightyBattlePugSame problem here. 100% Load on CPU and GPU in game. Ive been able to reduce the GPU load a tad but still crashes late in game or when it feels like. CPU on the other hand has stayed at 100% load in game. Ive tried reinstalling the game, reinstalling the drivers, running in administrator, even messed with NVIDIA 3D setting and apex settings. My Apex setting are set really low because i prefer more frames but like i said i have moved them around in hopes that it would help to no avail. As @ProjektBloo said I wouldn't care as much if this wasn't the main game i played everyday.

@ohwillyy I have your same OS build.. and i'm suspecting that the problem is also inside the last windows update.. menawhile i've setted the "-maxthread 3" and the CPU goes low but the games instead of shutdown the PC keeps it freezes.. same freeze that i'm having in for honor from the last windows update of the last week.. i've tried everything i know..
