Apex Legends - In Game, White Dot In Middle of Screen, And Mouse Does Not Work.

I am having an issue that when I am in the in game main menus, settings menu, or character selection, my mouse acts and responds fine. When the game loads, and I am finally in game, a white dot shows on the screen right in the middle, and a cursor arrow is present. The cursor is stuck to where the white dot is facing, so I have no control to look around. My keyboard (WASD) works just fine, so I can move freely, but due to the white dot, I am stuck facing in just the one orientation. No ability to look around. I have mashed every key to hopefully turn off to no success.

I have repaired the game, performed a clean boot, uninstalled Apex, re-installed, uninstalled Origin and re-installed as Admin, and re-installed Apex, plus reset ALL settings to default.

Any help would be appreciated.

  • Are you using Discord by chance? I had the same issue and I think it was after I enabled in-game overlay for Apex in Discord settings. I just tried disabling it and quitting Discord. Restarted Apex and it seems to be working for now.

I had the same issue, but for me it only occurs when both Discord overlay and Origin overlay are running. With that said, I also have the NVidia overlay running as well, and I haven't tested it with that overlay off.

  • In case there is still an answer needed:
Go to Origin -> Applicationsettings -> More -> Origin ingame
Disable Origin ingame! (maybe restart Origin)
now you should be able to play without the mouse bug again.

    Worked fine for me

  • I've been having the same issue for the past few weeks. thinking back what could have started it all was that i changed the key bindings for my discord and origin overlays then added the key bindings to my G keys on my logitech keyboard and more then less i have the same issue none stop -___-

Have the same problem with Discord and Origin

Turning off Origin overlay - helped. Thanks!

  • I started having this problem today. Disabling the overlays does not seem to work?

  • I have this isssue Also no matter what I do it wont go away ...FYI its only Origin games every other platform works.

  • It is caused by Origin In-game overlay being turned on.

In Origin - go to application settings--> More--> In-game--> Toggle it off. Problem solved - though very disappointing that they have not yet fixed this.
