Apex Legends - NZXT CAM Triggering Cheating Ban??

Hello

I couldn't find an existing thread covering this topic but saw that it has occurred on other games like Valorant. Can the NZXT CAM trigger the anti-cheat software in Apex Legends to ban you for using 3rd party software?

I was banned on 9/10/21 and I am losing my mind trying to figure out why I would be flagged for cheating when I have never cheated. My account wasn't hacked (i checked) thanks to 2-factor authentication and when I appealed the ban EA ToS team just said they reviewed my account and confirmed the permanent ban is appropriate due to using software to cheat. It took me forever to realize that NZXT CAM on my PC may be causing problems. There are other threads discussing how it's caused crashing issues. Can it also trigger the anti-cheat software? I appreciate any input.

    I'm afraid we wouldn't be able to provide any specific confirmation on what programs would trigger a ban in Apex, however our Terms of Service team does review that information when investigating an appeal.

    You're welcome to submit an additional appeal if you've not already done so and another member of the ToS team will review the situation again.

    If they've completed multiple reviews without any change, we wouldn't be able to provide any additional info via the forums either, sorry.

    @IamDadKing lol, this would be an awesome case if true!

    For all the rest of us I hope you were hacking after all otherwise ... I am speechless - potentially banning people for using Camera while allowing aimbotters to run around freely :D

    NZXT CAM is a software made my NZXT that they install on the machines they build to track computer processes, CPU/GPU temps, fan speeds, overclocking, etc. I've seen reports that this software has caused problems with other games and caused crashing issues with Apex so I thought it was a potential reason for my ban. I wasn't hacking at all but EA help just says I was involved in cheating without expanding on what specifically flagged my account. I have no idea why i was banned or how i can retrieve my account if the ToS team doesn't care to look in to it with me.

    @IamDadKing I think ToS team is located in Belarus, North Korea, Russia or some similar country then :D

    This banning system is the biggest joke I have seen so far especially if this case is true: actual hackers not banned, streamers playing with obvious assistance tools everyone is ignoring/tolerating, people are banned more often for badmouthing than actual hacks, and now this...

    Plus the process of appeal which is in place yet it basically gives replies as a basic chatbot "sorry we will not give you any additional info not to compromise our anti-hack software, hope you have a nice day and are satisfied with the provided service" :P

    Geez. But oh well another example of the fact that people don't own anything in this economic system - the fact that you spent X amount of money on the game still does not make it yours, not since CDs went out of trend.

    p.s. no wonder that some people just get pissed but this system and probably just create alternative accounts with full-on hacks and just game on just to mess up the day for Respawn/EA and Apex community for cases like this or similar.

    Hello, same thing happened to me actually.

    I got banned a couple of weeks ago because of cheating. 
    I opened many tickets but it’s completely useless, I keep receiving the same response from the ToS. My case is closed and they will not review the case anymore. And this is super frustrating because of course I did not use any kind of cheat or software that can may trigger the anti cheat. I sent a complete list of all the programs installed on my machine (all basic programs that runs on every PC btw) but this did not help. I’m in a limbo where I can’t move forward with the case and all I can do is making absurd assumptions of what can have triggered the ban, or write on this forums with people that had my same issue. 
    The only other thing I did in order to had a better FPS performance in game is to change some of the  launch options via the origin game panel. I followed a trusted YouTube video on it and just put those lines of command in the Launch options. Could it be that some of these edited options may have triggered the anti cheat?
