Apex Legends 1 FPS in menus and unable to load into matches
I've got the most recent bios update available for my motherboard (Asus H87 plus). I have the latest NVIDIA drivers for my GTX 1070. I have all of the necessary CPU and motherboard drivers I need.
Games like PUBG, Black OPS 4, ARMA 3, etc... all run fine on my PC.
Except for Apex Legends, Apex is literally unplayable.
For starters, I have to use notepad to edit my videoconfig.txt settings and disable fullscreen and enable noborderwindow in the Apex folder located under USERS, that's just to get the game to launch at all. (If I don't do this, I get errors stating that the game doesn't support my resolution, no matter what I set it to including, 720p 1080p and 600p.) No other game has these issues.
Once the game is launched and I'm in the first menu, the FPS is literally 1-5 FPS. My 3 other friends have computers with similar (or worse) specs than mine and they play this game fine, except for my one friend who experiences the game crashing at least 5-10 times a day.
The audio in the first menu is extremely laggy to match the low FPS. When I check to see the CPU usage of this game in the first menu it is 96-100%. When I try to join a multiplayer match while queued with my friends, they tell me that the game says I'm "preloading data". Eventually, the game either freezes up or after waiting 10 plus minutes I close it. The closest I have got to playing in a match was seeing a black screen with some hud display icons showing up.
NVIDIA Geforce Experience claims that my optimal settings for this game are high for everything, and yet not even the lowest settings work.
I have the game installed on an HDD with an extra 250GB of free space left open.
Please help me resolve this issue.
@MOTi_EniGm4 could you try to run a Windows System file checker to see if that helps. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/use-the-system-file-checker-tool-to-repair-missing-or-corrupted-system-files-79aa86cb-ca52-166a-92a3-966e85d4094e
