Apex Legends error 4294967287 and 327684:1

I've tried uninstalling the Origin Client multiple times, and from browsing on the forum here, I've even tried manually installing all of the Direct X stuff from DXSETUP and the vcredist files located in the games install location. The game downloads/installs perfectly fine up to 39% where it automatically tries to launch, and I'm met with these two error numbers. When I try to install Direct X manually from DXSETUP.exe and vcredist located in the games folder, I am immediately met with an error from direct x the moment my mouse clicks install. I've tried this from a fresh install of Origin numerous times, and I've already submitted an error report. I'd like some answers, because my patience is wearing thing.

Installing Direct X manually does not work, do not suggest I do this. I've already tried it.

  • I just got a new pc, and I am trying to installing the game, but I keep getting the above error. I youtubed this issue and tried what the people recommened by deleting all the files except for 3 of them in the direct x redist folder. I have had no luck, how do I fix this issue?

    Hey @Hacker34873

What type of anti-virus software are you running? If possible, can you try adding an exception for Apex Legends? In some cases this error can come up because security software is blocking the installer.

  • I've gotten help from multiple friends and we've looked at probably just every solution that people have put out there and my game will still not install >_< and always gives me the "Error: a redistributable package (directX) was not installed successfully. Setup cannot continue. (4294967287)"

If anyone has other solutions please help me :c , I don't know what to do! :<

I'd suggest asking a friend to just zip his installation folder and then copy-pasting/unzip it onto your PC.

Then use the "Locate Game"-feature, which you can find by right-clicking the game in Origin, and then specify the folder where you placed the installed game.

You shouldn't need to install it if you have the files. You only have to login to origin, right click on Apex, select 'locate game' and select the folder containing the files.

@Godisbullen I mean I did all of that and for some reason it still wouldn't let me locate the game, even my friend was very confused :/

@pantsuqueen since it seam to be DirectX that's the issue here, maybe try DDU to uninstall your GPU drivers and then reinstall.

DDU is a free tool you can download , just do a quick Google search.
  • I am getting the Apex Legends error "A redistributable package (DirectX) was not installed successfully. Setup cannot continue. [4294967287]" while attempting to download Apex Legends. I have had Apex installed on my PC before, without issue. I uninstalled it and did not play for a little over a month, but I played a lot in Season 4. So it used to download just fine on my PC, but attempting to try the new season is not working so good. I have already attempted a whole lotta fixes, so here is the list of all that I have tried:
    - Disabling Firewall
    -Reinstalling Visual C++
-Clean install of newest graphics drivers
    -Disabling Origin Ingame for Apex
-Deleting all .cab files in Apex installer redist folder
-Deleting all .cab files in Apex installer redist folder except 2010 versions, also did the manual install of specific version following a fix guide (did not work).
    -Manually running DXSETUP.exe as admin
    -Clean boot of windows
    -Running Origin as Admin

    -Clean reinstall of Origin client.
