I tried many things and what actually worked for me was restoring default setting. It is funny, because I actually just reduced the strain on my pc, but it seems to have started the crashes. The most crashes I got was when I completely disabled pre-loading textures (0 VRAM needed). The settings then started telling me I have insufficient VRAM for that setting (which has requirement at 0, so that is funny). So at least for me, it seems to be the lower setting I have, the more crashes I have.
So I restored defaults and then changed it to borderless windowed... might be worth trying.
Update. Tried reducing the shadow quality and texture filtering. Crashed immediately next game. Put it back up and no crashes... the game is a bit choppy for me though. The framerate is not that high. Maybe that is actually what is helping me? If your framerate goes too high, you crash?
