OMG! I've tried everything almost two weeks, this one works for me!!
THANKSALOT!
Live "fat" client can be found here: https://download.dm.origin.com/live/OriginSetup.exe It does not not start up the existing client on execution.
- This worked for me, but the link is not correct now. Here is the new link (which I found on AnswerHQ)
https://download.dm.origin.com/origin/live/OriginSetup.exe exactly same problem bro
Just like everyone else here I have the same issue, Installed the game it then decided to update...and it just loads the splash screen goes to 100% then nothing happens!!
- I wonder where you got the 1060 Ti from. You must be the only human with a 1060 Ti
- Sorry for the late reply @Jobfinisher96
I dunno, man, I think maybe I installed Origin from a web link or somewhere and then I downloaded a different installer maybe? the one I installed has "_thin" in the name so I am assuming it is a different version.
the good news for me is that now the game starts... the bad news is that sometimes 2 minutes, sometimes 15 minutes in (usually as soon as I get hit) my entire PC reboots from the BIOS screen and when I get back into Windows it no longer recognises my GPU at all. Manually restarting Windows does nothing. The AMD settings app just says the GPU isn't there and all I can do is listen to those fans wail in the background. Only way to get the GPU back is to shut down my PC and power it up again.
Tried playing FarCry on Ultra settings @ 4K res and it runs smooth as butter... try playing Apex and I get stuttering cutscenes and stuttering character select screens and stuttering gameplay (even at lowest quality) and then I get my GPU completely ghosted in Windows. Only happens in Apex. Not sure I want to try playing it again now that I finally got it starting... Pity, game looks fun... but it seems it was not meant to be played by people using RX480 cards ☹️ - Worked for me.
Thank you all for the different solutions to try, sadly none worked for me and Apex Legends won't launch and now I'm giving up. Was fun to play the game as long as I could. Worked on my old system but since I bought myself a new system It is impossible to get it going again.
Sadly I can't get my old system back since I've gave it away to my sisters son so he could play Fortnite. Well I could but hey ain't wanna be that uncle.
For information my new build consist of the following:
Intel Core i7-8700K
ASUS ROG Strix Z390-F GAMING
Gainward Geforce RTX 2080 Triple Fan
HyperX Fury DDR4 2666MHz 16GB
Kingston SSDNOW A1000 480GB M.2
Samsung 500gb SSD
Seagate BarraCuda Pro 1TB SATA 2.5" 7200RPM
Found a fix finnaly -
Seems like when you get the "Error: A redistributable package (DirectX) was not installed successfully. Setup cannot continue. (4294967287)" error it will not install all the DirectX dll files needed. Used a fix to make sure I can install games (Deleting the distrubet packages since even with Window defender and Virus program disable I couldnt install due to the Error message) but then it wont install the DLL files need obviously.
