Banned for no reason, No explanation given?

I was recently banned from Apex without explanation. The TOS team is claiming that they were correct to ban me but that they cannot tell me why.

I have played Apex from this same account since about early 2020 when me and 2 of my friends streamed to Mixer (just before the sale and abandonment of the platform). I purchased 4 Legends: Caustic (my main), Wattson, Crypto, and Rampart. For a short time I played ranked and slowly started building out of Bronze but only got to about Bronze 2. I have no history of cheating or exploits in any game, and there is no record of me using any sort of profanity in game chat.

Despite all of the above facts, my account was banned without explanation and without apparent cause after 2 attempts to get my case heard. Through my research this seems to be a common issue in the community. Of course there will be those self-righteous people who have used cheats or said something outside TOS that fill these same spaces, but by my record I am innocent of that accusation. What's more is that in my account under "My Bans" there is no record of a ban on my account, so where is this ban coming from?!

Why was I banned? What data could there possibly be to show that I was doing anything that violates that UA or TOS? What will be done with the purchases I have made?

I demand answers.

  • I need to ask for help from the community on this one. I was banned from Apex Legends about one week ago, and after an exhaustive series of conversations with the EA Support staff I finally found out why. Apparently the issue is that the Easy Anti-Cheat software caught some sort of unrecognized or unauthorized software or hardware that triggered a ban of my account.

I know what you're all thinking, but please save the snide comments about how "we all know you're a cheater who just wants to save face" because I really, honestly haven't. I'm posting to see if anyone else has gone through a ban like this but was falsely banned and got it reversed. I've combed through all of the records on my PC, the system event viewer, my security software, router network history, and everything else I can think of but nothing has caught my eye in terms of something that would have triggered EAC to report my account. If you've been banned but had it overturned, did you figure out what caused the false ban? I need help because I've put a lot of time (and some money) into my account and I desperately need to get it back.

I've seen some reports in the past about RGB controller software causing conflicts, has anyone experienced this? I use Thermaltake's TT RGB Plus software and the Asus ROG Armoury Crate service. I also have a Stream Deck and have used it to play and pause videos in the background of my gaming sessions, so I'm wondering if it got detected as a macro? The play/pause button does (for some reason) make my character equip a grenade if they have one, so I'm thinking this may be it.

Please, any advice anyone can offer would be so very appreciated. I love this game and have always played with integrity. I just want to get back out there but this ban has me stumped.

Hey, @Tritoe18 when it comes to banned account, it's not something we can help with on the forums and something only our ToS team can help with.

For it to show up on "My Bans" there can be a delay before it does.

  • Thank you @EA_Atic for replying to my post, I understand I may be a drop in the bucket but it seems this has been a pattern of late.

I have spoken to them through my appeals to my ban with no explanation. Therefore it seems that reaching out to ToS team from the client/customer/player side is unsuccessful, which is why I reached out through here so that an internal team member such as yourself may be able to find an answer that I am apparently not allowed to know. An answer to the proof of my ban, an accusation and action that requires that the burden of proof be on the accuser as it is in every other court or body that deals in punishments.

Being as I have spent money and time in this game and this ban came out after a long stint of absence, and that I have never used any exploitation software, I do not think that in any reasonable discussion it would be out of the question for me to ask for a direct answer to why I was banned.
