Canceling the Resolution Change affects input lag in Apex Legends?

Hello there,

many people playing Apex Legends have issues with input lag. The mouse feels "spongy" and is just not "direct".

So here's the thing. If you change the resolution in the ingame settings and click on cancel to go back to the original resolution which you were using the input lag seems to be fixed. Also it seems like there's less prediction error (or whatever it is) because less bullets go through enemies without doing anything. I'm not talking about how different resolutions affect your input. Of course there are differences. No, I just apply the resolution change and cancel it immediately but the game still feels totally different after that until I restart. Can someone explain this to me? If you don't believe me you should try it out right now when you are in a match, lol. Other players doing that notice differences as well.
