Hey @rurlzy,
Do you know if your friend has access to a PC? If so, can he try logging into Apex Legends with the same account to see if he can add you as a friend there? I'm really wondering if this is only happening on Xbox, or if the same thing might happen if he tries to add you on PC as well.
If he can add you on PC have him try logging back into Xbox afterward and see if you can see each other to send invites there. Thanks!

Ah, gotcha. I understand. Do you know if they are playing on Xbox accounts that have parental controls set up?

I don't think I've seen anything like that specifically so far. What was happening when he was trying to set up Xbox Live? Do you remember if he was getting any specific errors or anything?

@EA_Kent i am having the same issues but i am on xbox and cant find my pc and ps4 friends. They also cant find me either. We have checked all privicy settings and have exhausted all avenues to find each other. My buddy on pc has xbox buddy and was able to add me but we cant play together but proved we can invite.
Do you know if your account is set as a child account, or is it an adult account?

My friend and I can’t find each other on Apex. I’m on PS4 and he’s on Xbox. Whenever I put his name in find friends it says not found and the same thing is happening to him. My account is not under a child account but I think his is. Is that the reason we can’t find each other?
Just being on a child account shouldn't cause any issues, but in some cases there are additional restrictions under the parental controls that can cause problems when you try to match up for cross-play.
If possible, can you ask your friend to make sure his privacy settings and parental controls are set up to allow invites and cross-play?

@EA_Kent hate to piggy back on another thread, but that's maybe better? let me know LOL
I (XSS) can't add my son's account (PS5) as a friend. He can't add me (That is to say, we can't find each other, or if we do, invites never arrive)
My brother in law (PS4) can't add him as a friend, but we worked around this by adding him as a PSN friend and he shows up because of that.
BIL can then invite both of us to a party and my son and I can play together.
But without my BIL there's no way we can form a party.
I tried to get around this by forming a club, but neither of us can invite my son because we can't "find" him. And when BIL views him on the friends list, there's no "invite to club" option.
My son DID have a child EA account, but we've since converted to a regular account.
BIL and I are friends but I can't remember how we facilitated this, I think he was able to search my EA account name.
Happy to do whatever is needed to diagnose this issue. When BIL groups us up we're both fine, and my son and I can play the game independently with no issue.
