Crash with DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG on RTX 4060 – Apex Legends
Dear EA Support.
I have been experiencing frequent crashes while playing Apex Legends, often receiving the following error:
DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG
0x887A0006 - The application's device failed due to badly formed commands sent by the application.
This issue happens consistently during ranked matches, and has significantly impacted my rank progression. After each crash, if I try to rejoin or play another match, the error tends to happen again sooner or later.
I’ve talked with other players in-game, and many of them also experience this same issue. It’s very frustrating, especially when it causes me to lose points in ranked mode.
Here are my system specifications:
- CPU: Intel Core i5-12400F
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 8GB OC
- RAM: 16 GB DDR5 @ 5200 MHz
- Storage: 1TB SSD
- OS: Windows 10
I’ve already tried switching between DirectX 11 and DirectX 12, updated all my drivers, and ensured no background apps interfere. Despite this, the issue remains unresolved.
i've taked an screen shot from the error and i place it down here :
I would greatly appreciate it if your team could investigate this and suggest any workaround or fix.
Best regards.
After research and frequent inquiries from players, I found out that on the date the new season of the game was introduced, an update for Nvidia graphics cards was released on the same day, on May 6th. After that, the crashing problems started. If you are having crashing problems, you should update your graphics card to versions before May 6th, for example, update version 576.02 released on April 16th.
