Cross Progression: I have 2 EA Accounts. What do I do?

I have two seperate EA Accounts, Playstation and Steam.  I have tried to link my Playstation account with my PC account in the past but lost everything except stats so I got in touch with EA Live Chat and they helped me revert it.  Cross Progression states that it will link accounts under the one EA ID.  What would be the best way to do this going forward?  I do not want to lose anything and make the same mistake I made before.

Obviously you're wondering why I have two accounts in the first place.  This is the result of the terrible Origin platform that was in place previously, not to mention I never actually created any EA account myself on Console, it just automatically created it years ago.  I understand my situation is niche but just wondering if anybody is in the same boat?

Many thanks,

P.S The Playstation account is my main account with everything

TLDR:

Two seperate accounts

Tried to merge before but lost everything

What do

  • Hey @ManInTheBox404,

While you'd be able to unlink one platform and try re-linking it to the same EA account, as you mentioned this will cause a loss in progress.

The progress and cosmetics you've unlocked are stored on the EA account, so if you have two separate EA accounts and a different platform on each, there won't be a way to combine that progress I'm afraid. One of those will be lost depending on which platform you unlink (if any).

If you're wanting to make use of Cross Progression on these accounts going forward, you will need to move one platform or the other to the same EA account. That won't bring content from your second EA account, but you would have access to your main EA account content on both platforms from that point forward.

I’m in the same boat, I spent most of my money on pc but i’m on console now. Were you able to get your main platform’s account working on the new platform with said main account’s content being present?

  • You are not the only one with this issue my brother, if it is not too much, I would like to explain my half. A long * time ago back in 2015, I was I was about 12 years old, and my brothers friend used my Xbox account to make a EA account for Mass Effect 3, and flash forward to 2019 when apex came out, I made an Ea account for apex on my PlayStation and steam account, and now we are here, where cross prog is no longer a rumor. to prepare for the merge, I wanted to link my Xbox account, so I can get all my rare skins and stats transferred over, so its easier to play with friends. And I go to link my Xbox account and it states that there is a Ea account already associated with my box account. Okay no big deal, I'll just sign into Ea using my Xbox credentials, and unlink it. Oh no I require an verification code from the email address, and the email in question came up as one that I do not recognize , so I start to dig a little deeper, and I ask my brother and he recognizes the account, okay well this isn't my first time getting into old accounts by guessing easy passwords, but I go into the email, and its been rendered as inactive, because there has been no activity on the email address for a very long time. Damn, I guess I'm at a stalemate, so I contact an EA advisor seeking help, mind you, all I am asking is, them to access the Ea account a potentially unlink the Xbox account tied to it, so I can relink it to my primary EA account, shouldn't be too difficult seeing that they can ban your entire account with a single mouse click right ? Wrong ! I explain to the representative my problems and that I do not know, and or remember any of the details, and in order to access them, I require a verification code to view these things, but the email cannot be accessed by any means due to the state of inactivity. and they tell me to "try and remember the details" like c'mon man I was literally 12 years old and I am turning 21 next year, I am not going to remember much lol. And this all could've been avoided if my brothers friend didn't use my Xbox account to make an EA account back in 2015 !  So the advisor states that maybe I can contact a Microsoft support agent. but little does that person know, is that Microsoft has nothing to do with this, besides providing authentication for the linking and unlinking of the account . So the advisor was just trying to "pass the buck" in a sense. And this is now onto day 5 of me trying to resolve this simple, yet uncommon issue. I am beginning to lose my patience, because EA is a multi-billion dollar company, I know that they can do anything they want with an account with very few mouse clicks. And bare in mind, the EA account that holds my Xbox account is Thomman1, and you can see my username, and they look pretty similar don't they !? Both accounts share My First Name and Last Name.

  • hi i have a question,my ps4 account is banned but my ea account has no issues, what if i create an xbox account and i link it to a new xbox account?will i be able to get crossprogression by login from xbox or i need to login first by the original account (psn)?

    @ohMyyPaiN

Banned accounts are not eligible for cross progression or merging.

as per my reply in the other post you posted about this you would first have to dispute the ban successfully.

    1. i need help like how to see the list of my accounts, i got the cross progression update but it didnt show the list of my accounts? like hello? i need any advice on how to check it or log out/ log in again on ps5.
  • Hello Meko, I have my brother who have messed up by having 2 accounts on the same ea account, am I able to unlink them or are the items gonna stay on one single account or will the other account receive what was lost?

  • @Zadokfcb did you find a fix for this I am also on the same page as you I have 2 different EA accounts which I have spent quite a lot on both and now it says if I unlink them I'll lose everything that i had on xbox if i wanted to link that to my PS one, @EA_Mako how do you fix this x

    Hi @GG11Grimm,

Progress is stored on the EA account level, not on individual platforms like PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, etc. This means if you link your platform to a different EA account, you'll lose access to that progress.

There is not a way to transfer progress between two different EA accounts, so if you have progress on both that you'd like to keep, I would not suggest unlinking from either one so you don't lose anything.
