Cross Progression Rank reset?

My friend hit diamond this season but after he obtained Cross Play it says that he has to play 10 provisional matches (he still has the diamond logo near his name though.)

is it safe for him to continue playing ranked to try to grind for Masters or will this glitch set him back?

Same for me.
Im progressing though Ranked faster and higher than I ever have before. I think I'll make Diamond for the first ever time.
But my Plat 2 logo now states I need to do 10 Prov matches.
Is it safe to complete those 10 matches? Im not starting again, that can get f*cked. I've pumped so many hours into this season with the sole aim of hitting Diamond. I've been so excited for Cross Progression but because my newer account is a lower level I've lost all my legend and gun stats which I can just about live with (even though Im gutted), but if this resets my seasonal rank to. I think I'm done.
We just want to know, is it safe to play and get those 10 matches out the way????

    You can do your 10 prev matches, I did the 10 and i just progress a lot in my LP, and it's * HUGE the bonus you earned, like you gain ~70 per game just for "prev matches" so DO IT !
