DUAL MONITOR 4k and ULTRAWIDE

Ok so heres my situation. I have an ultrawide for productivity and a 4k monitor for gaming(larger monitor for better gaming experience). I want to play apex on the 4k monitor (at 1080p for max performance) but when i have the up (full screen 1080p on the 4k monitor) and i try to click on anything on the secondary ultrawide it will minimize apex. i need to be able to browse during downtimes and minimizing every time so so frustrating -_-. halp!

note: i can do it for pubg but for some reason apex messes up.

  • Just to understand you correctly, you want to run 1080p on your 4k screen but also, be able to tab out without Apex minimize to the desktop.

Normally you would need to run games in Window mode for this to work, but window mode scales to your screen resolution aka to 4K. If you put the desktop in 1080p would be a work around. @DOGEATER714

  • is there anyway to add this request for them to implement into the game?

It is default Windows behavior to return the desktop to it's original resolution once you tab out.

The only way I can think of games working any different is if you run borderless and the game has a resolution scale you then set to 25% as 1080p is 1/4th of 4K and yes in that case the Apex team would need to implement a resolution scale. Until then, as Atic says, I believe setting the monitor to 1080p before playing is the solution.

  • sounds dumb but i play on a big TV @ 60hz. when i set it on 1080p it turns into a tiny 1080p screen lol.
