Getting abandon penalty because of DDOS/server crash

What makes you think the server got DDOS'd? (Any error codes?)

I know that this game has quite the history, though realistically, the chance of a DDOS is extremely unlikely as this would affect an entire server. (Not just a single lobby)

You could've received an abandon penalty after the disconnect due to your team most likely having been killed within that time.

Issues with the ISP can also result in something like this, which could affect multiple users within the lobby, though even then, unrelated to the Apex servers themselves.

And yeah, you guessed correctly, RP is not compensated for these types of issues as it's impossible to detect whether or not the disconnect was on purpose. 

It's possible with server issues, though again, doubt that's the case here.

I server my abandon penalty for the server crash (with -58p) and got into the next game.

Nothing wrong with the gaming experience.

Hmm does sound quite like a DDOS yeah, next time it happens, make sure to check the top right of the screen for any icons, these are indicators for specific network issues.

If it were a DDOS, I'd hope to see some more protection against it in the near future, cause it does indeed ruin some matches.

It was a DDOS my guy like you thought. I have seen it happen to tons of streamers and it happened to me today. Lost 1.5 time the RP of my entry cost. I could restart immediately but we got abandon penalty and RP loss. I didn't capture error codes either but knew what it was. With 4 days left in split right now losers are getting desperate. Its so sad. 

How is it “impossible” for a server to determine someone hitting the leave match option and someone getting literally forcibly removed from the match. Let’s stop making excuses for a company that cares only for profit cuz they know they have a game that’s addictively fun. This game has been out for years and it seems this season alone people are getting booted everyday. I’ve been booted from games everyday this week. And then I get a penalty cuz of it. And I lose rank. The only response EA has for there buggy game is here’s new skins.
