Huge FPS drops and lag spikes on desktop

I'm getting huge fps drops and lag spikes 5 seconds apart from each. Tried lowest possible graphics settings which made very little difference.

Other games run just fine on high/ultra above 60 FPS, Apex however drops to 10-20 FPS which makes it pretty unplayable.

Relevant specs:

- motherboard with z87 chipset

- i7 4770k at 4GHz

- 16 GB RAM at 1600 MHz

- GeForce GTX 1060 3GB

- SSD

Yep I'm having exactly the same problem, I'm on a comparable system to you and it just runs really bad but other games which are much better looking run way above 60fps. They seriously need to work on optimisation.

I think its not optimisation issue, for my friends the game runs fine with similar configs.

So, heres what fixed this issue for me:
- Installed GeForce Experience
- Installed new driver with GeForce Experience
- Clicked optimize settings for Apex Legends

Yeh that has nothing to do with this problem. I believe its server side at this point. I have tried an absurd amount of solutions. The only way to fix it was to completely delete apex from pc and reinstall drivers. This fix will last for about a week and then the stuttering comes back. I believe it is an algorithm they are running to save money with server cost's. I have been running a packet sniffing program to track data at the same time. Basically frames are linked to upload. If you lag then you drop frames. The longer you play the more likely these spikes are to happen, I am left to assume they are prioritizing bandwidth to certain locations or server pathing is just so bad these drops will continue to happen no matter what.
