Is Using DSX for One-to-One Touchpad Remapping Allowed in Apex Legends?
Hi everyone,
I have a question about the anti-cheat rules regarding controller remapping in Apex Legends.
I play Apex on PC using a Sony DualSense Edge controller. Recently, I started using DSX (DualSenseX) to customize the touchpad gestures.
Here is my current setup:
- Steam Input is disabled.
- My controller runs in native mode, without any virtual controller emulation.
- I use DSX to map touchpad swipes (up, down, left, and right) to individual keyboard keys for healing items.
- I also mapped a touchpad hold gesture to a single keyboard key for weapon inspection.
- Each gesture sends only one keyboard input (1:1 mapping).
I have seen EA's recent anti-cheat updates and understand that third-party controller software is being monitored more closely.
I also read that simple one-to-one button remapping is generally acceptable, but I would like to confirm whether this applies to DSX.
My questions are:
- Is using DSX to map a single controller touchpad gesture to a single keyboard key allowed?
- Does using keyboard inputs through a controller count as an unfair advantage, even without macros or automation?
- Could this specific setup put my account at risk of suspension or a permanent ban?
I just want to customize my controller while following the game's rules. I would really appreciate clarification from an EA Community Manager or someone familiar with the anti-cheat policy.
Thanks in advance!
