Hello.I'm reaching out to you because my voice chat is working terribly ingame. Any people in my squad talking to me, seems to have a very very low volume and i can't hear anything, However, in the settings, voice chat volume is set to the maximum ...This happens with every people i met, since launch, making any game with random people much more difficult.I've seen people complaining about this around February 2019 then no more answers could be found. Is there any way to fix it ??For the record, my Microphone works in game and i have no other issues with the game sound nor any voice chat software, except the in-game Apex voice chat. I'm playing on PC.Best regards.

@EA_Kent may or may not be relevant but on my analog 5.1 surround system voice chat is comming only from the center channel

Yes, i have the "ICUE" software to make my Corsair Headset run. It does slightly change my volume mixing. I don't think that is the issue tho because it should have affected in game sounds as well, not only incoming voice chat, right ?

has there been a fix for this? Also having an issue, can't hear in game voice chat well. Max Volume is like below 30%, everything else like sound effects is below 10% if on at all and still cant hear them. When the game first opens and has the like EA logo and sound that nearly blows my ear drums

@gfunk_zero Got it, thanks! It looks like this is related to an issue the Apex Legends team has been investigating. They've got it posted on the Dev Tracker while they're working on getting it fixed. @EA_Kent Has your dev team looked into this issue on the console versions yet? I know from the dev tracker this issue was flagged as resolved. But there seems to be an issue across all platforms: the default "incoming voice chat volume" is very low compared to all other sound effects in the game. The worst part of this issue is that there is no separate slider to change this setting when playing on a console; I don't see it when I play on my PS4 or PS5 and my friends on XBOX also don't have the option to tweak it either. But I know PC players have this broken out, separated from the "sound effects" slider. Are there any updates currently being worked on that will be implementing an "Incoming Voice Chat Volume" slider to consoles?I used to play Apex on my PS4 during Season 1-5, and this didn't seem to be an issue. I stopped playing for a while but started to come back, and it's so bad that I'm here trying to see if anyone on the dev team is aware of this issue. The "incoming voice chat volume" for consoles appears to be merged with the "sound effects" slider. Unfortunately, it feels like the sound effects in the game (shooting, flying, ext.) are set to 100%, but incoming voice chat sounds like it's set to 25%. This is also not a client-side issue regarding headsets; I've tried 3 different headsets, one being a Bose QC25 headset that does not have an audio slider built into them, and nothing seems to fix the issue. It also has the same 1:4 ratio for voice chat to sound effects when using a TV. I tested this by unplugging my headset while my friends talk, and the same effect seems to be occurring. I included a screenshot below of the audio settings. The top image is the audio settings for what it looks like on a PS4/PS5; I'm also assuming this looks like on the XBOX side of things. Whereas the picture below is the audio settings on a PC. The noticeable difference between the two images shows that there is a "Voice Chat" subdirectory that PC players have the ability to fine-turn. Again, any update that you can share regarding this issue and an "Incoming Voice Chat Volume" slider in the pipeline for consoles would be wonderful to hear.All the best,Justin

Yes, i have the "ICUE" software to make my Corsair Headset run. It does slightly change my volume mixing. I don't think that is the issue tho because it should have affected in game sounds as well, not only incoming voice chat, right ?

I'm wondering if there might be an issue with a specific audio channel being quieter than others. If the voice chat is coming through that particular channel it could be the reason why the volume is too quiet.

What happens if you start up your PC in a Clean Boot before you launch Apex Legends? If there is something else running on the PC that's related to the volume issues that may help to get around it. For more details on how to set one up check out the EA Help website. Let me know how it goes when you have the chance.

Hey Kent,
I tried the clean boot procedure and it indeed slightly improved the voice volume. However my sound as a whole seemed very awkward both in Apex and other programs on my pc.
Thank you anyway for your help, guess i'll be typing in my games a bit longer :D

I'm glad to hear it helped with the voice volume, but I'm sorry that your sound is still a little off. I know how maddening it can be to try to sort out sound issues. When you Clean Boot your PC do you recall disabling any software that might have been affecting your audio?

@EA_Kent Corsair ICUE program. Without it every windows / apex etc sounds are very weird. Disabling it doesn't really affect incoming voice chat !

I also have Realtek booting every time but closing it / booting without it doesn't seem to affect anything.

I'm apparently not the only player having issues haha :D

It sounds like ICUE may be the culprit. I use this software on my PC as well, but it only works with my keyboard, so I'm afraid I'm not really familiar with its options for headsets.

When you created the profile for your headset what sort of options did you have for managing that device?

@EA_Kent There are a few preset profiles affecting different sound range but even the default one wich by the looks of it doesn't change anything seems to be problematic. It's pretty weird because without the software booted my whole headset seems to not be working correctly at all ..

Hmm, I wonder if there might be an issue with the normal sound drivers in Windows.

When you've got a chance can you try uninstalling and reinstalling those sound drivers to see if that makes any difference at all? You can find more info on how to reinstall them over at the Microsoft Support website. The section on that page titled Fix your audio drivers has more details.
