Issue with Apex Legends voice chat

Hello.

I'm reaching out to you because my voice chat is working terribly ingame. Any people in my squad talking to me, seems to have a very very low volume and i can't hear anything, However, in the settings, voice chat volume is set to the maximum ...

This happens with every people i met, since launch, making any game with random people much more difficult.

I've seen people complaining about this around February 2019 then no more answers could be found. Is there any way to fix it ??

For the record, my Microphone works in game and i have no other issues with the game sound nor any voice chat software, except the in-game Apex voice chat. I'm playing on PC.

Are you currently using any kind of audio management software to balance the audio on your PC?

Yes, i have the "ICUE" software to make my Corsair Headset run. It does slightly change my volume mixing. I don't think that is the issue tho because it should have affected in game sounds as well, not only incoming voice chat, right ?

Thanks! I appreciate the info.

I'm wondering if there might be an issue with a specific audio channel being quieter than others. If the voice chat is coming through that particular channel it could be the reason why the volume is too quiet.

What happens if you start up your PC in a Clean Boot before you launch Apex Legends? If there is something else running on the PC that's related to the volume issues that may help to get around it. For more details on how to set one up check out the EA Help website. Let me know how it goes when you have the chance.

Hey Kent,
I tried the clean boot procedure and it indeed slightly improved the voice volume. However my sound as a whole seemed very awkward both in Apex and other programs on my pc.
Thank you anyway for your help, guess i'll be typing in my games a bit longer :D

I'm glad to hear it helped with the voice volume, but I'm sorry that your sound is still a little off. I know how maddening it can be to try to sort out sound issues. When you Clean Boot your PC do you recall disabling any software that might have been affecting your audio?

@EA_Kent Corsair ICUE program. Without it every windows / apex etc sounds are very weird. Disabling it doesn't really affect incoming voice chat !

I also have Realtek booting every time but closing it / booting without it doesn't seem to affect anything.

I'm apparently not the only player having issues haha :D

It sounds like ICUE may be the culprit. I use this software on my PC as well, but it only works with my keyboard, so I'm afraid I'm not really familiar with its options for headsets.

When you created the profile for your headset what sort of options did you have for managing that device?

@EA_Kent There are a few preset profiles affecting different sound range but even the default one wich by the looks of it doesn't change anything seems to be problematic. It's pretty weird because without the software booted my whole headset seems to not be working correctly at all ..

Hmm, I wonder if there might be an issue with the normal sound drivers in Windows.

When you've got a chance can you try uninstalling and reinstalling those sound drivers to see if that makes any difference at all? You can find more info on how to reinstall them over at the Microsoft Support website. The section on that page titled Fix your audio drivers has more details.

@EA_Kent I just tried doing what you advised and apparently there is no remarkable changes .. Are you aware if anyone has ever found a solution to this issue ?
