Linked Steam to EA account, but Steam progression was replaced instead of merged

You've linked the Steam account to its current EA account, but it was linked to another EA account prior to this. Progress is stored at the EA account level, rather than individual platforms like Steam.
You would have linked it to an EA account the first time any EA game was launched from that Steam account, though it likely wouldn't have prompted you to sign back in since that point until this most recent situation. It sounds like at that point it was then linked to this account instead of the one that already had the progress.
You're able to unlink/re-link an account once every 6-months, which is why you're seeing that timer now as it was just re-linked last week.
Our support team should be able to help get the Steam account re-linked to its original EA account ahead of that timer, though it won't be possible to combine the progression from two separate EA accounts.
If you create a new case here and select Game Support > The EA app > I want to update my EA Account information, you should be able to get in touch with the support team so they can take a look at getting things re-linked to their original accounts.
