Logging into new PC gave "Client Ban" ?

Recently I moved into a new house with a friend and I while waiting for my setup to arrive my friend/Roomate let me play some apex on his pc. He uses Steam to access apex and play, has over 1000+ hours logged on his current setup and is currently diamond ranked. I don’t use Steam to play apex so we simply logged into my account through the Origin launcher and we even downloaded the game again through the Origin launcher, as there was no way to locate the Steam installed version of apex. After downloading apex and playing on MY account through the Origin launcher, roughly 5 games in I was hit with the “Client ban” screen. We quickly launched Apex from steam to try and play on my friends account got through 1 game and then he too was hit with the “Client Ban” my friend plays apex on his PC EVERYDAY. Why would logging in to my account on origin launcher and downloading the game through Origin launcher flag any of our accounts worth of a “Client Ban” we both can still sit in the lobby, our accounts are still active, but every time we queue into a match we get the same “client ban” screen. Not even firing range works. There is no malware or viruses on his computer he has an active McAfee subscription that was installed and running at the time, and still is. We did a full Pc scan and repair all of which was in vain.

If anyone has any help or tips or insight we would greatly appreciate it. We read some places that it may be caused by the sudden change in HWID associated to my account or the fact that I’m not using 2FA but I just don’t understand that at all bc I’ve logged into my account this exact same way from another friends PC and nothing ever happened before. I feel terrible for this all I did was login and game for a little while.

  • Yes Barry. I understand that and I already sent in a dispute. I’m asking a question here looking for insight and anyone else who might have experienced this type of issue before. I have already followed the correct course of action.

    @Meekleton

    If you are looking for some insight I might have some for you.

    This might explain the possible why this happened to you but will not solve your problem.

    Theoretical scenario start:

    If you use an unknown/untrusted/unsecure platform to log in with your account and it has been sanctioned your account could then also be sanctioned. For example logging in to play at an internet café could end up having your account banned if said platform at the café has had a hardwire ban. internet cafe's are not safe for personal accounts as one does not know what others have done before you on that platform and you also do not really know what has been installed on that platform.

    The same kinda goes for using other peoples platforms, do you really know what they have done or have installed on their platform.

    Their is also the flip side of this for someone letting others use their platform for gaming what if that other person does something to violate the ToS and gets your platform banned.

    It is always best to keep your account and platform safe by not letting others use your platform or account and by not using other platforms that are not your own.

    Bottom line to keep your account safe is use your own platform, use your own account and do not let others use your platform or account, anything else is unsafe.

    I recently moved from California to Wisconsin, and while waiting for my setup to arrive a friend, whom I trust and always game with, who has 1000+ hours, said I could use his computer to play Apex while he was gone to work. Is there a limit to the amount of accounts allowed to login to 1 pc? He has his own account and 1 alternate account to play with friends of lower ranks. So with my account logging in, that makes 3 total account on this one PC that have been logged in. I’ve never logged in on insecure wifi, I’ve never used anything besides Origin launcher to login and/or steam. We are both very confused, and as you could imagine, upset. We believe that EA thinks account sharing is what’s going on here but how could we prove that we aren’t? This seems just like as if someone on console let their friends sign in to their profile and play, if that makes sense. Our account are not banned and are still active but we were both hit with the “client ban” screen every time we attempt to queue in. I wish there was something we could do to try and fix this, I feel the worst out of the two of us bc had I not asked if I could play on his computer for the time being, nothing would have ever happened to HIS account…

    @Meekleton

    As @EA_Barry mentioned before and I mentioned we can not help or assist in any way to solve your problem.

    You and or your friend need to contact the ToS team via EA help and submit a ticket to dispute the ban if you think the ban was unwarranted.

    When you submit your ticket provide as much information and background as possible because you can only dispute a case a certain amount of times and then no more.

    Wishing you and your friend the best of luck.
