Login issue? Account linked yet unlinked?

Hello
I've been playing Apex pretty much from day one. My EA account is linked to my Steam account, and I've been playing there since it was released on Steam.
I just encountered an issue that I've never had before.
When I try to start the game, it requires me to log in or create an EA account, which is weird since my Steam and EA accounts are already linked. It even says so on my EA profile under the Connected Accounts page.
I've been told to ask here or on Reddit about what I should do. Someone told me not to link the account again until I get some support, since it might wipe my progress along with everything I've ever had.
Any ideas on what to do?
