Lost connection to PlayStation Network and EA Servers

Apex on PS4 has been giving me hell for the last few weeks (since the start of season 12). I never know when I'm going to be able to connect. I frequently get the error in the title "Lost connection to PlayStation Network and EA servers. Please check your internet connection." My internet is working perfectly and I can play Apex just find on PC (on the same network) but my PS4 gives me this error so often the game is basically unplayable. I've tried the fix of setting a custom DNS server (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) but still no luck. Is anyone able to help?

Thanks for getting back to me, I have gone through both the connection and advanced connection guides but neither of them helped. Strangely the issue I'm having is frequent but intermittent. As I write this post Apex has just started working on my PS4 seemingly at random. The real problem is that I can't be sure how long it will stay working. Since the start of season 12, I've had many times where I've simply had to give up trying to play Apex for the day because it refuses to connect despite my internet working perfectly fine (again, I can play on PC without issue - I just prefer to play on console).

Hi @Pete6274 Currently there are issues with PSN were seeing on our game, Your issue might be seperate. Once they are cleared can you verify if your issue continues?

If so can you check what your network connection shows in the PS4 settings? (For download/upload, nat, etc)

No problem, thanks for looking into the issues. My network connection shows a consistent 50mbps download and 10mbps upload when I perform a network test and the NAT Type is Type 2. I connect using a LAN cable and I set a custom DNS (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) with all other settings left as default/automatic.

Unfortunately, I am unable to access my routers settings. I am trying to contact my internet service provider who supplied me with the router in order to find out why. That being said, Apex seems to be functioning normally again. At least for the last two days, the issue hasn't come up. Not sure what might've changed.

  • Hi! i have been having this issue for a while aswell, i did put my ps4 in DMZ and got port forwarding done for my playstation, sadly that has had no effect and im still facing this issue, its only been happening this season

  • Since the start of the new season I have played once and couldn't be able to get into the game again because of "Lost connection to PS and EA server" checked everything and it's all good and internet is good so I can't play anymore due to it and everything showes its all up and running so can EA or some help pls.

  • I was having the same problem and I changed the password to my PSN account, logged back in and could then successfully connect to EA servers.

Not saying this is 100 percent but worked in my case.

  • have the same issue my ps4 also can't connect to the 2g version of my wifi but works fine on 5g might be correlated but idk.
