Ranked Play Server Connection

I was dealing with some issues with downloading the update on the EA Desktop, so I downloaded it via Steam. While I was playing on Steam, the servers were just unplayable at some points. I regularly had stutters and ping issues with my ping peaking out at 250+ ping. It was incredibly odd and only happened for me last night and today. 

Look at the top right corner. It's visible and shows several indicators.
