Re: Apex Account Reset

Hello @vvhathegg,

when you relink your account, there's always the chance that the progress cannot be restored - relinking your account to the original account is the only way to get your progress back, but there's no guarantee. The fact that it messes with your account is also highlighted in the original unlinking warning that you get when you unlink and also in this article:

https://help.ea.com/en/help/account/unlink-gaming-accounts-from-ea-account/

Unfortunately, if Support checked your account and told you that it's been overwritten, then there's nothing that can be done.

  • It hardly highlights that it messes with your account to that extent. The fact unlinking an account can delete ALL data should be highlighted and bolded in all red, but it wasn't even mentioned in plain text. I had no idea EA just wipes entire accounts like that; no other gaming company does that. Additionally, many others on here and community managers have said relinking an account restores data. How can this be the case if the data is deleted upon unlinking? It doesn't make any sense, and I think support just can't be bothered to actually look into my account, which is very sad because I had thousands of hours and hundreds of dollars of cosmetics on it. All of my stats and my actual level still shows up properly on stat tracking websites.

    @vvhathegg,

    when you unlink your account, you get this disclaimer, where it is highlighted that your Apex account will get messed up in the progress.

    And it doesn't automatically delete the progress, etc. However, the process of unlinking can mess with it to the point, where it is not recoverable, and especially now that your account is already merged, that chance is increased.  Relinking accounts is the only way to regain progress, but it's not guaranteed, which is something mentioned in all disclaimers and by most CMs, when the topic is being discussed. EA doesn't wipe the account - the process of unlinking two accounts that share data messes it up and this is highlighted.

    Hello @DOUBLE-233,

    you can contact the EA Support and ask there if they can make an exception in the face of the circumstances that you have been hacked, as normally, you can't connect a different steam account to the same EA account, even after unlinking the first.

    However, be aware that, even if Support makes this exception, you will lose your progress as that is bound to the connection between the Steam and EA account. There is no way to transfer the content and progress.

    @EA_Pythia Hey this has happened to me but support said my items could be recovered but it had to be done by the apex team. So who should I contact for it to be done. If the can't be recovered if I show proof that I had the items could I still get them back

    Hello @BrameClan,

    if your progress disappeared after relinking accounts, there is no way of getting that progress back, unfortunately, even if you have proof that you owned it before.

    This thread is also rather old at this point, so I'm going to close it in accordance with our rule about necroposting. If you have any further questions or issues, please create a new thread. Thanks!
