Re: Apex Legends Controller issue PC

Hey @Mulix_Is_Alpha

Can you try something for me when you have the chance? I'm curious what happens if you try starting up your PC in a Clean Boot before you launch Apex Legends. If there is anything else running on the PC that could be interfering with the audio outputs that may help to get around it.

For more details on how to set one up visit the EA Help website. Please let me know how that goes once you've had the chance to give it a try. Thank you!

    Hi @Popen05

I have a feeling this might be driver-related. I'm not sure if the game is able to recognize the audio output from the controller as an audio device. Do you run any sort of third party drivers for your controller such as DS4Windows?

It might be worth installing such a program to see if that helps. Just keep in mind, it's not officially supported by EA so you would be installing the software at your own risk. If you're able to give that a try though, let me know how it goes.

  • I am also having the exact same problem with the Amazon Luna controller. Yesterday I was able to play and connect the controller and use it with Apex Legends on PC perfectly fine all day, i was able to open and close the program yesterday multiple times and the controller was recognized. Today, Apex legends no longer recognizes my controller whatsoever and nothing has changed since yesterday. No different programs are running or anything. I have tried restarting steam, closing certain programs, and Apex Legends simply does not recognize my controller even though steam AND my PC recognizes my controller.

    Hey @zatooone1

If you're still using DS4Windows can you test something else for me?

Open the DS4Windows and click on the Settings tab at the top. Check the option that says Hide DS4 Controller. Try launching Apex Legends after that and see if it works. Let me know how that goes once you can give it a shot. Thanks!

  • @EA_Kent Hey, I tried this suggestion and nothing changed. I am able to use my same controller (with DS4Windows) in Final Fantasy XIV and Destiny 2 with no issues.

I've tried without DS4Windows. I've tried enabling PS4 Controller support in Steam. I've tried fresh boot, nothing. Used a controller with Apex perfectly fine a couple of days ago, but suddenly it just stopped recognizing it.

    Hi @ThaSmoothness

Can you share a DxDiag when you've got the chance? You can find more details on how to pull one up at the EA Help website

Once you have the text file please attach it to this thread. Thanks!

    /Kent

  • Here you go, Kent. Sorry for the delay here.
I uninstalled Apex Legends and meant to re-install it, but haven't yet. I'll do it today and Rerun the DxDiag if you need. Hope this helps.
