Re: Apex Low fps and distorted sound! Game becomes unplayable

Hey man sorry you are experiencing this issue. I am having exactly the same and it's so frustrating! Apex is my favourite game but I am so close to uninstalling it. It's been happening for about 3 months now and still no solution.

Things I have tried:

- Turning off all overlays - MSI, Xbox, Discord, Origin in-game etc.

- Uninstalling Apex and Origin and reinstalling

- Uninstalling and reinstalling GPU drivers

- Fresh install of Windows

- Set up port forwarding to Open my NAT type

If I clear the game's cache, repair it and restart my PC it will work absolutely fine, but the next time I come to play it will be exactly the same again.

I've spoken to the customer support team about 4 times and they can't seem to work out what the issue is.

I'm actually kind of glad someone else is experiencing this (sorry!) as it shows that our system's aren't at fault. I can run any game on any other platform as smooth as butter!

Sorry to hear that but I tried everything you mentioned. Try to play around Texture Streaming Budget next time you play see if it works for you.

  • Hey man, had no luck with the texture budget unfortunately.

It seems we definitely aren't alone with this one! If you Google 'Apex Legends Stutter' it seems to be quite a common issue.

One suggestion was to turn off Nvidia Shadowplay in GeForce Experience as it can interfere with Origin. I turned it off, restarted my PC, and it seems to have worked. With that said, it may just be temporary and I log on tomorrow and it goes back to how it was, but I managed to get the game running well without having to clear the cache or repair it. Feel like I am making progress!

Might be worth giving it a shot as well? Or if you have an AMD GPU, checking whether they have some kind of overlay activated in the background 🙂

Hi guys, have you enabled ultimate powermode in your Windows? Search for it in YT, it helped my FPS alot!
