Do i need to checked the read only properties for the videoconfig file ?

@iEat15EggsADay hmm i tried your method and its been 5 games and didn't have any freeze, even got second and first in the last two games. I'll try again once I'm done with my lunch.

*update 1: playing for second session now, been playing 8 games at least with full party no crashes yet. (specs: i7-7700k, 16gb ram, 1650). 

*update 2: playing duos with my friend and got the crash lol. I guess this method kinda makes your game crashed less.

@iEat15EggsADayDidn't work 100% for me,still get the freezes but not as often as before.

My hardware is i5 3570k no oc,Nvidia 1660super,16GB ddr3 ram,Windows 10 fresh install with bare minimum apps and programs installed,newest Nvidia driver.

Also tried the 60fps cap,didn't help.

I am done troubleshooting,waiting for a hotfix update from EA.

I can live with every other game freezing for now.

okay. nice that it seems to help other people too.

it looks like it is only happening with older intel processors. i am gaming on i7 6700k.      

i hear all kinds of i processors up to 7700k having this problem

this worked so far for me. i recommend

People reported it worked for them and it did for me aswell, so i will post it again. If you get freezes, try this:

Step 1:

go to apex video settings and disable "Spot Shadow Detail" completely. put it on disabled. 

It is important to do this step first because step 2 will be reset if you do ANY changes to your video settings later.

close the game.

Step 2:

Press Windows+R 

enter this:    %userprofile%/Saved Games/Respawn/Apex/local/ 

go to the text file called "videoconfig"

search the Line            "setting.csm_enabled" "1"  (in the bottom half of the file)

make it                         "setting.csm_enabled" "0"

save the file. 

Step 3:

Start the Game and give it a Try.

If you do ANY change to your video settings after step 2 it will set it to "setting.csm_enabled" "1" again.

Apex season 15 freezes issue has come way too far, nonetheless please try this launch commands:

+exec autoexec -refresh 144 -dev -console -preload -forcenovsync -high

Before: Always crashes every game on ranked/trios/trios no teammates fill.
After: 6 games and no crashes so far with this exact combination, currently testing another combination to make sure which one actually works.


So this combination seems unknowingly works on 2 PCs so far (me and my friend).

Let me know if this works for you also.

If you want to get anything fixed I would highly suggest uninstalling the game, so the devs can see the playerbase going downhill, its the only way they will ever fix something.
Bug was reported 7 days ago and they are not even close to fixing it.

This seems to work for now, but then again, there were other solutions that seemed to work for some time. Game seems to run smoother too, so I'm hopeful.

Edit: played about 2 hours without a crash.

A shop problem would be fixed in 2 hours btw .

Can we have some news EA to know when we will be able to play ?

I tried +exec autoexec -refresh 144 -dev -console -preload -forcenovsync -high and it changed nothing for me , I still have crashes . But Im happy it still work for some people apparently

I noticed "The Divide" POI is almost always an instant crash, not to mention frames drops in this poi is crazy as well with stutters. tried all the recent fixes suggestions and nothing worked. it really is an issue only respawn can fix fully, cause none of the solutions people are coming with worked full proof. It's also concerning that the issue is still under investigating on their tracker and didn't get the coming in next patch mark yet. hopefully we don't have to wait another week or something for this to get fixed. It's getting really frustrating at this point.

By combining these two methods, my Apex no longer crashes.

First we tried [1st] only, but it crashed after about 30 minutes.
Next I tried the [2nd] way to start Apex and played it for a few hours without crashing.

I will fill in my PC specs just in case.

3 * days now without any words from someone from EA... this is just * ridiculous!!!!

I've tried EVERYTHING that was said on forum/reddit and still crash, I can have 5-6-7 games without this happening, then it will do it every game even 3 times a game.

Since apex is pretty much the only game i'm playing, and that I can't play it, nor I can't stream because of that, I hope EA will give some sort or monetary compensation, not * skin 

O.K. once again I did an obscure 'fix' and haven't had any crashes in hours of filled trios.  Might be luck so take with a grain of salt.

Disable your microphone in windows sound settings. 

Seems silly, but S15 patch did launch with a nasty bug that was crashing the game when people connected/disconnected headphones so whatever is causing the freezing for us might also be audio device related.
